I-95 Northbound: Exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton) to Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway): Tuesday – Friday, 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. and Friday – Saturday, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m. Single lane closure starting at 9 p.m. followed by double lane closure at 10 p.m. on I-95 northbound at mile markers 133-135 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension work.

Spotsylvania County: Route 1 Northbound at Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road): Wednesday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Single lane closure for Route 606 widening project. The northbound right turn lane to eastbound Mudd Tavern Road will be closed.

I-95 Northbound: Exit 110 (Ladysmith) to Exit 118 (Thornburg): Monday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. Single lane closure at mile marker 117 for bridge washing at Matta River.

I-95 Southbound: Exit 148 (Quantico) to Exit 143 (Aquia/Garrisonville): Sunday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure at 9 p.m. followed by double lane closure at 10 p.m. Bridge joint repairs at mile marker 145 over Aquia Creek.


Prince William

Well, partner, if the weather holds up, there’s gonna be some northbound lane closures on I-95 this Friday night, May 17. If things don’t pan out, they’ll give it another go on Saturday night, May 18. This here’s happening ‘round mile marker 155, between the Dale City Truck-Only Safety Rest Area North and Cardinal Drive, all thanks to some work on the Powells Creek bridge, according to the folks at the Virginia Department of Transportation.

I-95 Northbound: Exit 126 (Spotsylvania): Sunday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. Bridge work. Single lane closure at 9 p.m. followed by double lane closures at 10 p.m. between mile markers 125-126. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Construction of a new overpass of I-95 at Route 17 (Mills Drive).

Spotsylvania County: Route 1 Northbound at Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road): Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Mudd Tavern Road northbound right turn lane at Route 1 intersection will be closed for utility work.


Manassas

Virginia Department of Transportation: The Virginia Department of Transportation will hold a hybrid public information meeting Thursday, May 2 on planned innovative intersection improvements along Route 28 (Centreville Road) between Manassas Drive (Route 213) and Spruce Street based on recommendations from the Centreville Road (Route 28) STARS Study. The project aims to improve safety, operations, and pedestrian accessibility and mobility.

The Route 28 intersections at Maplewood Drive and Browns Lane will be converted to restricted crossing U-turns (RCUTs) and a median U-turn (MUT) will be constructed between Birch Street and Spruce Street.


Fredericksburg

I-95 Northbound: Exit 118 (Thornburg): Sunday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. and Monday – Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. Alternating lane closures at night at mile marker 119 north of exit 118 (Thornburg) at the bridge over the Po River for bridge maintenance repairs. Single lane closure during the day for bridge washing.

I-95 Southbound: Exit 148 (Quantico) to Exit 143 (Aquia/Garrisonville): Monday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 10 a.m. and Thursday – Friday, 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure between mile markers 147-146 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension work.

VDOT: The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and its contractor will begin building an intersection improvement project at Lee Hill School Drive and Old Dominion Parkway in Spotsylvania County on Monday, April 29. The intersection is just over a mile from Lee’s Hill Golf Club.

The project will transform the existing four-way intersection into a mini roundabout. Additional lighting at the intersection will be installed as part of the project.

VDOT: PRINCE WILLIAM – Beginning Sunday night, April 28, weather permitting, a portion of the northbound and southbound I-95 general purpose lanes in Prince William County will have nighttime single- and double-lane closures until late fall for roadway joint repairs and paving, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. At least one lane will remain open in each direction at all times.

The lane closures will occur Sunday nights through Thursday nights, with Friday nights being used as backup dates in case of inclement weather:

The 1.2-mile improvement, located in the Gainesville Magisterial District, includes not only the widening of the roadway, but also a 16-foot-wide grass median, a 10-foot-wide shared-use path and a 5-foot-wide concrete sidewalk along the south and north side of the road respectively.

Prince William County Gainesville District Supervisor Bob Weir thanked the staff and all involved in building and completing the $64-million project.  “Glad you brought it in on time and under budget … congratulations,” Weir said.
