Hit-and-Run (City Property Damage)

On December 4, 2022 at 1:15 a.m., Manassas City Police responded to a collision near the intersection of Tudor Oaks Dr. and Signal Hill Rd., in the City of Manassas. Upon police arrival it was discovered that a vehicle struck a light pole and then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The suspect was described by a witness as a heavyset Hispanic Male wearing a white shirt and driving a silver compact sedan with front end damage and a flat tire. This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Manassas City Police at (703) 257-8000.

At 4:31 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022, Prince William County Fire and Rescue crewsunits were dispatched to the 1700 block of Varsity Drive in the Marumsco Village neighborhood in Woodbridge for a report of a fire in a single-family house.

Crews were able to quickly extinguish a fire located in the home’s basement. No injuries were reported. The structure sustained moderate damage. Two adults were displaced. The Fire Marshal’s office determined a candle was the ignition source of the fire.

Fatal Crash Investigation *DECEASED IDENTIFIED – Today (Tuesday, December 6) investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit notified a next-of-kin of the 36-year-old man who was struck and killed while walking in the roadway along Richmond Hwy in Quantico (22134) on December 5.

The driver of the second vehicle that is believed to have struck the victim as he laid in the roadway remains unidentified. Investigators continue to ask anyone who may have witnessed this crash to contact police and are urging the driver of the second vehicle to come forward. The investigation continues.

Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On Sunday, December 4 at 1:40 p.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 14400 block of Village High St. in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed a dark-colored vehicle was driving down Village High St. when an occupant of the vehicle brandished a firearm out the window and fired multiple rounds before the driver fled the area. The rounds struck the exterior of two homes in the area. No injuries or additional property damage were reported.

Felony Eluding | Reckless Driving – On Monday, December 5 at 6:28AM, officers responded to the Westgate Apartments located in the 8100 block of Portwood Tn. In Manassas (20109) for initial reports of an unresponsive man in a vehicle.

As officers were responding, they learned determined the vehicle had recently been reported stolen. When officers approached the vehicle, the occupants refused to follow commands. At one point, the driver of the vehicle, later identified as the accused, reversed their vehicle at a high rate of speed into a police cruiser before quickly fleeing from the scene. No officers were struck by the accused.

A Woodbridge woman was jailed after a serious accident in Vista Woods subdivision Saturday evening. On December 3 at 6 p.m., deputies responded to a pedestrian-struck accident in the 100 block of Choptank Road. The incident is still under investigation, but the initial investigation revealed a 2000 Dodge Durango driven by Melissa Jones, 43, struck a teenage juvenile walking in the area.

Wet Floor Bandit Arrested

On Friday, December 2, at 2:41 a.m., Deputy R.T. Philippsen responded to the Sheetz at Wyche Road for an intoxicated customer. Staff advised the 21-year-old male patron had fallen asleep in the deli area. He was subsequently asked to leave the store. Instead of leaving, the inebriated consumer proceeded to expose himself and urinate on the floor. Deputy Philippsen placed the suspect under arrest and obtained warrants for public intoxication and indecent exposure. The man was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,500 bond.
