Deputies were called to White Oak Road, near the Virginia Virginia Department of Transportation Residency, just after midnight Saturday, December 30, 2023, to find a man suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

Emergency crews took the unidentified 33-year-old victim of King George to a hospital, where he died. Police have still not released his name.

“Scams like these play on the victim’s emotions and demand they be quick or face legal action. As a reminder, no law enforcement agency, including the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, will demand money over the phone. We also do not accept Bitcoin as any kind of payment in any matters. If you are ever unsure about the sincerity of a call from someone posing as a deputy, hang up and call us directly. We will be able to properly inform you if you are wanted.”

Stafford County Sheriff’s Department:“On January 2 at approximately 7:58 a.m. Communications Officers received a call from someone advising they had just been stabbed. Due to the nature of the call, deputies quickly responded to the Shelton Knolls Subdivision. When deputies arrived, they observed two males holding another down. Deputies took over the scene by detaining the suspect, providing first aid to the victim, and uncovering what occurred.”

“It was discovered the suspect, Randull Washington Jr., was upset due to a family matter and began making threats. An argument escalated into a fight between Washington Jr. and another family member. The victim attempted to intervene in the altercation when Washington Jr. stabbed him in the back of the neck. Both the family member and victim were able to disarm Washington Jr. and hold him down until deputies arrived.”

“Park Ridge Subdivision, 1/3, 12:03 a.m. Deputy P.J. Leon responded to a disturbance. A neighbor advised he believed a juvenile party was occurring. When Deputy Leon arrived and looked through the open door, he observed a party much like a scene from the movie Sixteen Candles, complete with beer pong, marijuana, and juveniles. Criminal complaints for unlawful possession of alcohol and underage possession of marijuana were filed for the juvenile hosting the party at his residence. The other 12 party goers were turned over to a responsible guardian.”

“Target, 1090 Stafford Market Place, 1/2, 3:17 p.m. Deputy X.D. Bates responded to a larceny. Staff advised two individuals stole approximately $800 worth of items. They further advised both suspects have been seen stealing from other Targets in the area. Deputy Bates was able to identify both suspects and warrants will be obtained.”

Stafford authorities are searching for a Westmoreland County man they say shot and killed a man on Deacon Road.
