Hospitals in our area are adapting to life after the pandemic, and at least one has resumed its normal visitation policy.

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge says it’s ready to welcome once again the visitors who wish to visit patients inside the hospital. Sentara will resume standard visitation policies for all Sentara hospitals and outpatient facilities.


Supervisor Margaret Franklin will hold a town hall meeting on Wednesday.

Franklin, who represents the Woodbridge Magisterial District on the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, will discuss multiple transportation projects, including a briefing on the North Woodbridge Small Area Plan.

Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On June 17 at 6:15PM, officers responded to the Riverwood Apartments located in the 2700 block of Yosocomico Ln. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an initial report of shots fired. Residents reported to police that gunshots were heard before parties dispersed, leaving the area on foot and in vehicles.

Man, 22 killed in crash in Nokesville

Fatal Crash Investigation — On May 26 at 7:35 p.m., investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 13300 block of Bristow Rd. in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of 2005 Subaru WRX was traveling northbound on Bristow Rd. when the vehicle crossed over the center line and struck a 2013 Nissan Leaf traveling the opposite direction. The driver of the Subaru was extricated from the vehicle and transported to an area hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries sustained during the crash. The driver of the Nissan was also transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Speed is a factor in the crash. The driver of the Subaru was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The investigation continues.


Prince William

Police are investigating another fatal crash on Cardinal Drive in Woodbridge.

Fatal Crash Investigation – On May 23 at 7:48 a.m., investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Cardinal Dr. and Swan Way in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a two-vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2006 Nissan Altima was traveling eastbound on Cardinal Dr. near Swan Way at a high rate of speed when the vehicle struck a 2005 Toyota Camry from behind that was traveling in the same direction.
