A 9-year-old girl shot in Woodbridge on Tuesday, May 24, remains in critical condition.

Meanwhile, police arrested a 15-year-old in connection with her shooting. The teenager, who lives in Triangle, is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, attempted malicious wounding, shooting at an occupied vehicle, using a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possessing a firearm by a juvenile. Police arrested the teenager today without incident.

A teacher found a student suffering a stab wound, leading police to uncover a fight in a school bathroom.

The investigation at Woodbridge Senior High School, at 3001 Old Bridge Road in Lake Ridge revealed that three students were inside a bathroom when a verbal altercation escalated at 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 25.

On May 25, the suspect sought in connection with the shooting that occurred at the athletic fields of Benton Middle School located at 7411 Hoadly Road in Woodbridge on May 1, was arrested.

Isaiah Malik Gordon, 23, of 16600 Harwood Oaks Court in Woodbridge, turned himself into police without incident. Gordon is charged with two counts of aggravated malicious wounding, one count of possession of a firearm on school grounds, two counts of use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of use of a firearm while on school grounds.

The Prince William Conservation Allince will hold a public meeting to discuss threats to rural land quickly being consumed by newly-built data centers.

A Community Town Hall: Help Protect the Health of the Occoquan Reservoir, will be held Thursday, June 2, 7 p.m. at Jenkins Elementary School 4060 Prince William Parkway, in Woodbridge. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with exhibits to view. The event is free to attend.

On May 24 at 6:41 p.m, officers responded to the 15300 block of Gatehouse Terrace, just off Rippon Boulevard in Woodbridge, to investigate a shooting.

Police found a 9-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound and utilized trauma kits to administer first aid until rescue personnel arrived on the scene.

The investigation revealed that the victims and other acquaintances, including the accused, had gathered inside the apartment. At one point during the encounter, shots were fired, and both victims were struck, police said.

The two victims were located deceased by officers later that day while investigating a call for service at another apartment.

Virginia’s most considerable commuter lot could soon be home to the Washington Commanders Football Team (formerly Redskins).

The Associated Press reports the team purchased 200 acres of land in Woodbridge to house a new stadium, practice facility, amphitheater, shops, and restaurants. A concept map shows the Commander’s facility replacing the Horner Road Commuter Lot, the state’s largest, at Interstate 95 and Prince William Parkway, and the Telegraph Road lot, just across the street.

The sensory bags for patients with autism contain an array of different items to use when patients are having a stressful sensory issue. Things such as marbles in mesh, squeeze balls, a flipper chain, and a Rubik’s Cube are among the kits’ sensory tools.

The idea to begin carrying these unique resources has been discussed by members in the past few years. Firefighter/Paramedic Lt. Matt Kodicek created Ben’s Blue Bags from the City of Crown Point Fire Rescue in Crown Point, Ind. He was inspired to start the nonprofit in honor of his son, Ben, who is autistic.
