On April 3, 2023, Freedom High School was chosen as one of the 23 schools that the American College Application Campaign (ACAC) selected for its School Of Excellence award. The award was part of their Virginia College Application Week program.

ACAC’s award recognizes schools that contributed to its mission, increasing the number of First-Generate College Students from low-income families.

To honor the upcoming Earth Day, April 22, 2023, Friends of the Occoquan organized a river cleanup across seven parks and marinas along the Occoquan River on Saturday, April 15.

More than 262 volunteers spent their Saturday morning collecting debris from the Occoquan River/Reservoir and its banks.

Two Woodbridge natives, Ethan, and Nathan Morlu, are first-year mechanical engineering students at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. 

They are 2022 graduates of Woodbridge Senior High School. The twins and eleven other students from 10 states received life-changing news during a visit to the Chick-fil-A Support Center in Georgia.

H2Go Kids is a free virtual educational program the Service Authority offers to public, private, and homeschooled students in Prince William County. Classroom presentations are delivered via Zoom by the Community Outreach staff or pre-recorded videos that teachers can share with students. 

Educational content and activities are also provided at one or two STEAM events each month during the school year. The program is specially designed to connect with the Virginia Science Standards of Learning (SOL) and the local Prince William County water systems.

Cat Johnson, a Stafford tattoo model, artist, and owner of Dark Horse Tattoos, at 395 Garrisonville Road, has competed for weeks to win Inked Magazine Covergirl 2023, along with 102,000 other tattooed models scattered across the country and worldwide.

Johnson, whose stage name is Cat Irezumi, has been in first during the previous six rounds and placed second in the semifinals.

Vendors will have access to the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center starting on Thursday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for set up. Arrangements to move in on Wednesday, October 25, can also be made by appointment only.
