I-95 Southbound: Exit 148 (Quantico) Tuesday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 10 a.m. and Thursday – Friday, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m. Varying single and double lane closures with intermittent traffic stops at mile markers 135–133 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension construction. Crews will be working on a flyover ramp and light poles.

I-95 Northbound: Exit 118 (Thornburg) to Exit 126 (Spotsylvania) Sunday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. Single and double lane closures for milling and paving work at mile markers 118–120.

I-95 Northbound: Exit 110 (Ladysmith) to Exit 118 (Thornburg) Sunday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. Alternating single and double lane closures at mile markers 111–112. Crews will install pavement markers and rumble strips following recent paving.

Stafford County: Route 1 Sunday – Thursday, 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. Single lane closures on Route 1 northbound and southbound between the bridge over Potomac Creek and Layhill Road. Crews will install pavement markings following recent paving.

The Center Square: “Virginia’s long-awaited Interstate 95 express lanes were ceremonially opened during a ribbon-cutting led by political and transportation leaders, including Gov. Glenn Youngkin and Sen. Tim Kaine, who touted the project as a time-saver and economic boost to the region.”

“The 10 miles of new lanes, privately funded through Transurban in partnership with the Virginia Department of Transportation, will complete the stretch through Stafford County – notorious for being one of the nation’s worst spots for traffic congestion. Ground was broken in 2019. The new lanes in the major corridor serving north-south travelers between Maine and Florida are estimated to reduce commuting time between Fredericksburg and Washington by 35 minutes.”

Virginia Department of Transportation: “The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking feedback on a STARS (Strategically Targeted Affordable Roadway Solutions) study assessing potential safety, operational and multimodal improvements for just over a mile of Dale Boulevard (Route 784) from Gideon Drive to Route 1, and nearly half a mile of Rippon Boulevard (Route 1392) from Route 1 to Blackburn Road.”

“The study is assessing existing traffic, safety and multimodal conditions in the corridor, including driver weaving issues at the Dale Boulevard/I-95 interchange and accommodations for people walking and biking. Within the study limits, Dale Boulevard averages about 42,000 vehicles a day and Rippon Boulevard averages about 12,000.”
