The Office of the Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney: “On October 16, 2023, the Honorable Judge Kimberly A. Irving, Chief Judge of the Prince William County Circuit Court, found Desmond Daniel guilty of two counts of first-degree murder following his guilty plea to the charges. The Defendant will be sentenced on March 14, 2024. Members of the victims’ families will present victim impact testimony at that time. The Defendant faces a maximum sentence of two life terms in prison.”

“On November 16, 2022, Prince William County Police responded to Isle Royale Terrace, in [near Dumfries] after neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots. Police arrived at the scene to find two gunshot victims in the basement of the home. One victim, a 22-year-old Woodbridge woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other, a 24-year-old Woodbridge man, was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A family dog was also located in the basement suffering from gunshot wounds and had to be euthanized.

Prince William police: “Murder Investigation – On October 16 at 1:27AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5600 block of Shannon Ct in [Dale City] (22193) to investigate a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed the victim, a 51-year-old man, and his adult son, identified as the accused, were involved in a physical altercation. Police initially received a call regarding the accused destroying property inside the home and possibly being under the influence of an unknown narcotic. When officers arrived at the home, the accused was observed unclothed and actively assaulting another individual, later determined to be his father.”

“Officers challenged the accused, who initially ignored commands and continued to assault his father before briefly retreating further into the home. At one point, the accused reemerged and exited the residence, where he advanced toward officers in an agitated state and grabbed the vest of a K-9 officer.”

Stafford Sheriff’s office: “The suspect from the Rappahannock Landing subdivision shooting is currently in the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office’s custody.”

“On October 11th, at approximately 2:45 p.m. deputies responded to the 200 block of Streamview Drive in the Rappahannock Landing subdivision for multiple calls of shots fired. When deputies arrived, they located a 42-year-old Stafford man Derrick Campbell with multiple gunshot wounds. He unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

Prince William Police Department: Murder Investigation *VICTIM IDENTIFIED – Following the notification of a next-of-kin, police are announcing the identity of the victim killed in a stabbing that occurred at the Dale Forest Apartments located in the 14300 block of Wrangler Lane in [Dale City] on October 6. The victim, Jeremy David LEWIS, 43, of Dumfries, was fatally stabbed inside the apartment following an altercation with an acquaintance. The acquaintance was previously arrested following the incident.”

“Identified: The deceased was identified as Jeremy David LEWIS, 43, of Dumfries. Arrested on October 6: [Mugshot now Attached] Joi Camille STORR, 41, of 14329 Wrangler Lane, #12, in Woodbridge. Charged with murder and stabbing in the commission of a felony. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond.”

Prince William Police Department: Residential Burglary *ARREST – On September 29, the suspect sought in connection to the burglary that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 11600 block of Crystal Creek Lane in Manassas on September 26, was arrested. The accused, identified as Richard Steven STARK, was located and taken into custody by the Stafford County Sheriff’s Department. Arrested on September 29: [No Photo Available] Richard Steven STARK, 40, of 12021 Parkriver Drive in Manassas. Charged with burglary. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Unavailable.”

Residential Burglary [Previously Released] – On September 26 at 6:15 a.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 11600 block of Crystal Creek Lane in Manassas to investigate a burglary-in-progress. The investigation revealed an unknown man, later identified as the accused, parked his vehicle in the driveway of the residence before entering the home through the front door. While inside the home, residents confronted the accused, who then left the residence and drove out of the area. While investigating the incident, officers identified the accused as Richard Steven STARK, and obtained warrants for his arrest. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.”

Prince William County Republican Committee Chairman Denny Daugherty resigned on Tuesday, October 2, 2023, after Prince William police charged his son with rape.

Daugherty led the committee since 2022. Vice Chairman Jacob Mosser is now chairman, said Virginia Republican Party Chairman Richard Anderson.

Residential Burglary – On September 26 at 6:15 a.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 11600 block of Crystal Creek Lane in Manassas to investigate a burglary-in-progress. The investigation revealed an unknown man, later identified as the accused, parked his vehicle in the driveway of the residence before entering the home through the front door. While inside the home, residents confronted the accused, who then left the residence and drove out of the area. While investigating the incident, officers identified the accused as Richard Steven STARK, and obtained warrants for his arrest. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful. Wanted: [Photo from July 2022] Richard Steven STARK, 40, of the 12000 block of Parkriver Drive in Manassas. Described as a white male, approximately 5’10, 160lbs., with short brown hair, blue eyes, and a full beard and mustache. Wanted for burglary.”

Prince William Police Department: Murder Investigation *ARREST – On September 27, the suspect sought in connection to shooting death of a 25-year-old man following an altercation that occurred at the Misty Ridge Apartments located in the 15000 block of Lost Canyon Court in Woodbridge on May 21, was arrested. The suspect and victim were involved in an argument in front of the complex when the victim was fatally shot during an exchange of gunfire. In June, the suspect was identified, and warrants were obtained for his arrest with a reward offered for information leading to his whereabouts and conviction. On September 27, the suspect, identified as Jeffrey Donelle HAMPTON, turned himself in to police without incident. Arrested on September 27: Jeffrey Donelle HAMPTON, 34, of the 13902 Roanoke Street in Woodbridge. Charged with 1 count of murder, 1 count of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, 1 count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and 2 counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond. Identified: The deceased was identified as Michael Eugene HAWKINS, III, 25, of Woodbridge.”

Murder Investigation *REWARD INCREASED [Previously Released] – The Prince Wiliam County Police Department has increased the reward offered regarding the whereabouts of the suspect sought in connection to shooting death of a 25-year-old man following an altercation that occurred at the Misty Ridge Apartments located in the 15000 block of Lost Canyon Court in Woodbridge on May 21. The involved parties were in an argument when the victim fatally shot as gunfire was exchanged. In June, the suspect was identified as Jeffrey Donelle HAMPTON. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for the suspect and an initial reward amount was offered for information leading to his arrest and conviction. Further attempts and leads in locating the suspect have been unsuccessful. The Police Department are now offering an increased reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of this suspect. The investigation continues.”

Prince William Police Department: Strong-Arm Robbery *ARREST – On September 25, the suspect sought in connection to the robbery that was reported to have occurred near the 10500 block of Stonehouse Drive in Manassas on September 20, was arrested. The accused, identified as Leroy Diaz MOTEN, was located and taken into custody by Manassas City police. Arrested on September 25: [No Photo Available] Leroy Diaz MOTEN, 48, of No Fixed Address. Charged with robbery. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Unavailable.”

Strong-Arm Robbery [Previously Released] – On September 20 at 5:09 a.m., officers responded to the area near the 10500 block of Stonehouse Drive in Manassas to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 38-year-old female, engaged in a verbal altercation with an acquaintance, identified as the accused. At some point, the altercation escalated when the accused grabbed the victim’s purse from her hand before fleeing the area. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Leroy Diaz MOTEN. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.”
