Minibike rider leads deputies on chase across North Stafford

Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “On November 23rd at approximately 8:34 p.m., Deputy A.T. Leckemby was traveling eastbound on Garrisonville Road near Onville Road when he observed a quick moving figure in front of him. It was difficult to make out the fact it was a minibike due to there being no lights on the bike at all. When Deputy Leckemby turned on his emergency equipment to conduct a traffic stop, the rider of the little red bike looked back towards Deputy Leckemby before proceeding to accelerate. This resulted in a pursuit.”

“Deputy Leckemby followed the minibike down Garrisonville Road, onto Richmond Highway, and into the Best Western parking lot, located at 2848 Richmond Highway. While the driver had no intentions of stopping, the minibike did. The rear tire flattened and the chain had popped off, rendering it disabled. That is when Deputy B.E. Vaughn arrived to assist and together they detained the driver.”

Fraud suspect engages in standoff with Stafford deputies

Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “On October 27th, Deputy X.D. Bates responded to a residence on Onville Road to answer legal questions. The victims advised they hired someone to complete construction on their home, but the suspect had yet to do so. While at first it appeared to be a civil matter, as Deputy Bates dove further into the investigation, he discovered the suspect might be defrauding the pair.”

“On November 2nd, Deputy Bates located the suspect and confronted him about the job. The suspect advised he ran out of money for the job, but that it was his responsibility to complete the job and he would ‘get it taken care of’. During their encounter the suspect provided a false identity, the same identity he gave to the victims.”

2 teens arrested after armed robbery in Gainesville

Prince William Police Department: “Attempted Armed Robbery | Malicious Wounding – On November 21, officers concluded an investigation into an attempted robbery that was reported to have occurred in the 8800 block of Screech Owl Court in Gainesville on November 10 at around 12:30 a.m.”

“The investigation revealed the victim, identified as a 17-year-old male juvenile, was approached by a male acquaintance, identified as the accused. During the encounter, the accused brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s property. The accused then fled towards a waiting vehicle being driven by a separate male juvenile acquaintance. The victim reported the incident to a 21-year-old family member, who then began to walk towards the vehicle which was parked nearby.”

Shooting victim suffering life-threatening injuries

Prince William police: “INCIDENT: Shooting | #Woodbridge; #PWCPD is on scene of a shooting in the 14300 block of Westminister Ln. One injured adult male victim located with life-threatening injuries. Area residents can expect an increased police presence.”

Bristow man, 25, shot and killed in Manassas Park

Manassas Park Police: “The Manassas Park Police Department is currently investigating a homicide. On November 21, 2023, at approximately 7:37 PM, Officers responded to a residence on Jessica Drive for a report of a shooting. The victim, Jose Alonso Bedregal, 25, of Bristow, was located in the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

“The suspect, identified as Anthony Andrade, 25, of Manassas Park, was charged with Second Degree Murder and the Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. He was subsequently held without bond at the Prince William County ADC. This continues to be an active investigation; due to the ongoing investigation, certain details will not be released.”

Tough week for cops in Woodbridge: Officers punched, wrestled, spit on

Prince William Police Department: “Attempt to Disarm a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On November 18 at 10:02 p.m., while patrolling in the area of Easy

Street and Richmond Highway in Woodbridge officers located a man trespassing in a posted no trespassing area. During the encounter, officers determined the man, later identified as the accused, was also actively wanted. As officers attempted to detain the accused, he actively resisted and refused to follow officers’ commands. At some point during the encounter, the accused attempted to retrieve a knife from his waistband and when officers prevented him from doing so, he struck an officer in the face. The accused then grabbed another officer’s neck before grabbing the officer’s weapon and attempting to remove it from the holster. After an additional brief struggle, the accused was secured without further incident. Officers also determined the accused was in possession of suspected illegal narcotics. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Navon Malik REID, was arrested. Arrested on November 18: Navon Malik REID, 26, of no fixed address. Charged with 1 count of attempted disarming of a LEO, 2 counts of assault & battery on LEO, 2 counts of obstruction of justice, and 1 count of possession of schedule I/II drug. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond.”

Child, 2, overdoes on fentanyl, parents charged

Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “On November 19th at approximately 12:51 a.m. deputies responded to a residence on Thomas Jefferson Place for the report of a choking child. Deputy S. Waheed was the first to arrive on scene and began performing life saving measures on the two-year-old child as medical staff arrived. While he was informed the child was choking on a hash brown, Deputy Waheed observed signs consistent with someone who would be overdosing. Medical staff was able to transport the child to a nearby hospital and began treatment.”

“Later on, Deputy Waheed would receive a call from Child Protective Services. They informed him hospital staff discovered the child did not in fact choke, but that he had overdosed. It was further advised fentanyl, THC, and cannabinoids were located in the child’s system. Due to the updated information, the Criminal Investigations Division was promptly notified.”

More DUIs in Stafford: This time, a 19-year-old woman

Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “On November 19th at approximately 2:31 a.m. Deputy S.A. Fulford responded to the intersection of Ferry Road and Hillcrest Terrace for a single vehicle crash. Deputy Fulford was first to arrive and located a vehicle halfway through a fence.”

“It was determined the vehicle was traveling South on Ferry Road at a high rate of speed when it crossed the center line and went off the road before brutally punching through the fence. Deputy Fulford made contact with the driver, identified as Katherine Watson, who advised she was traveling approximately 70MPH in a 35 MPH because she wanted to get home faster.”

Potomac High School security stop man with gun, police said

Prince William police: “Possession of a Firearm on School Grounds – On November 18 at 5:32PM, officers assigned to an off-duty security detail for a non-school related football game on the grounds of Potomac High School, 3401 Panther Pride Dr. in Dumfries (22026), were notified of a man in possession of firearm. The investigation revealed while event security personnel were checking bags at the entrance of the football stadium, they located a firearm in the bag of a man, identified as the accused, and refused to let him enter the stadium area.”

“Event security then notified police who observed the accused get into a vehicle and being to leave the parking lot. Officers conducted a vehicle stop on Panther Pride Dr. where officers observed a firearm inside the vehicle and the accused was detained without incident. While investigating the incident, officers located two additional firearms inside the vehicle. Officers determined at no point were any of the firearms brandished or used to threaten anyone on the school grounds. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Albert Trayvon SMITH, was arrested.”

Dumfries woman defrauded by someone posing as family

Prince William Police Department: “Fraud Investigation – “On November 16 at 1:51 p.m., officers responded to investigate a scam that was reported to have occurred to a resident located in the 16000 block of Fairway Drive in Dumfries earlier that morning around 9:30 a.m.”

“The investigation revealed the victim, a 65-year-old woman, gave a large amount of money under the false pretenses of helping a family member who was allegedly involved in a vehicle crash. The victim reportedly received a phone call and spoke to different individuals who claimed to be the family member involved in the crash, a police officer, and a public defender.”
