Thomas LaBelle is Prince William County’s new Fire and Rescue System Chief. He will start May 1, 2023, and make a $215,000 annual salary.
LaBelle replaces Tim Keen, who retired after 40 years at the county’s fire and rescue department last year. Interim Chief Jim Forgo has helmed the ship since Keen’s departure.
Fire crews in Prince William County were called to two house fires on Thursday, April 7, 2023.
Fire crews went to a home in the Yorkshire area, just outside Manassas, at 8:39 p.m. and found a single-family home ablaze.
Award winners were announced at the Valor Awards on March 29th at the Hylton Performing Arts Center, attended by first responders, award winners, and elected officials. News4 Anchors Jummy Olabanji and Juliana Valencia emceed this year’s event for the second year.

A 42-year-old man and his 19-year-old son died in a car crash in Stafford County.
Authorities said speed was a factor in the crash.
At 11:06 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2023, Prince William County fire and rescue units were notified by neighbors of a house fire in the 10500 block of River Run Court near Manassas.
Crews arrived on the scene with fire on the front deck extending into the home. The home sustained moderate damage, with no injuries being reported.
A 77-year-old Dale City woman died after she could not escape her burning home.
Prince William County fire and rescue crews were called at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023, to a home in the 15000 block of Concord Drive near Hampton Middle School.
On Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 4:36 p.m., Prince William County fire and rescue units were dispatched to the offices of Miller Musmar CPA in the 10500 block of Crestwood Drive, near Manassas, for a report of the building on fire.
Crews arrived with smoke showing from the attic. The fire was quickly extinguished. The building sustained moderate damage. No injuries were reported.
