Three poeple are homeless today after a fire ripped through an apartment building in Manassas.

On Wednesday, February 22, Governor Glenn Youngkin announced the 2022 Governor’s Fire Service Awards recipients as part of the annual Virginia Fire Chiefs Association Expo and Symposium in Virginia Beach.
“I am proud to honor these remarkable fire service professionals,” said Governor Youngkin. “We celebrate and thank these first responders and support staff for their extraordinary contributions to the Commonwealth.” Among those honored were members of the Prince William County Fire and Rescue System.
A fire displaced one person from a home in Prince William County.
At 4:47 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, fire and rescue crews units responded to the 9000 block of Keyser Road near Independent Hill for a report of a house fire.

Crews arrived at the 5000 block of Cloverdale Road to find smoke showing from an apartment.
The fire was quickly extinguished, but the single apartment unit had sustained moderate damage. The Building Official declared the unit unsafe to occupy, displacing two adult occupants.

Updated 2:10 p.m. — Police said an elderly man made a wrong turn on train tracks in Downtown Manassas.
Police and the city’s fire and rescue department report the car became stuck on the tracks at 6:23 p.m., Wednesday, February, 15, 2023, near the Art Factory on Battle Street.
The Virginia Department of Transportation closed the Interstate 95 northbound off-ramp at the exit 136, at Centerport Parkway in Stafford County to assist emergency responders with a tractor-trailer fire.
The I-95 northbound off-ramp at exit 136 is expected to be closed for several hours.

At 9:41 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2023, units responded to the 1300 block of Eisenhower Circle for an apartment fire. Crews found a fire on a second-floor deck extending to the balcony above.
Seven people are homeless after a fire in the Widewater area.
At 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, Stafford County Fire and Rescue units were dispatched for a reported structure fire in the 700 block of Widewater Road, near Decatur Road. The address was across the street from Widewater Fire Station 3 Widewater, and the first units arrived on the scene just moments later, reporting fire and smoke from the exterior of a mixed-use structure subdivided into apartments.
A fire broke out at a house in Dale City on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at 4 p.m.
Prince William County fire and rescue units were dispatched to the 13000 block of Redstone Drive for a reported house fire.

Updated 10:55 a.m. — A woman is hospitalized after she was reduced from a burning home in Dumfries.
Fire and rescue crews responded to a 2-alarm townhouse blaze in the Williamstown neighborhood at about 7:30 a.m. The woman was pulled from the home’s second floor and flown to an area hospital.
