On Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 2:38 PM, fire units were dispatched to the 3800 block of Port Hope Point in Dumfries following a report of a townhouse fire. Crews arrived to find smoke emanating from the two-story townhouse.
The fire was located in the kitchen and extinguished. No one was home at the time of the incident.
One of the occupants smelled smoke and alerted the other family members, who safely evacuated before fire crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
The structure sustained extensive damage, displacing two adults and four children. A Building Official determined the home was unsafe to occupy.
On Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 5:53 p.m., emergency response units were dispatched to attend to an injury incident near the shoreline of the Occoquan River, close to the Lake Jackson Dam.
Upon arrival, responders recognized the necessity for additional units equipped for high-angle rescues, given the challenging terrain required to safely extricate the injured individual from the riverbank.
On Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 10:41 a.m., the Prince William Fire and Rescue Department responded to reports of a house fire in the 13000 block of Dominique Estates Lane, located in Haymarket. Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy flames engulfing a single-family home. Fortunately, none of the occupants were present at the time of the incident.
The intensity of the blaze necessitated extensive firefighting efforts, compounded by the absence of nearby fire hydrants. As a result, the home suffered significant damage, rendering it unsafe for habitation. Two adults and three children have been displaced as a consequence.

Prince William fire and rescue units responded to a residential fire on Merrily Way on April 22, and a fire at Loch Lomond Elementary School on April 20, 2024. No injuries were reported in either incident.
