Woman faces charges after police chase on I-95

Stafford sheriff’s office: “A Mechanicsville woman trying to outrun the police found herself stuck between a rock and a hard place (or a police car and a Jersey wall) when the chase ended on I-95 in Stafford County yesterday afternoon.”

“On November 6th at 1:11 p.m. Deputy M.A. Holub was traveling northbound on I-95 near Warrenton Road in his marked patrol car when a Nissan Rogue drove past him on the shoulder at a high rate of speed. Deputy Holub activated his emergency equipment, but the Rogue refused to stop, accelerating to over 118 mph and weaving through traffic.”

Prince William fire and rescue: “It’s that time of the year when the onset of cooler weather induces homeowners to seek alternative and economical methods of keeping warm.”

“The increase in the use of home heating appliances also increases the risk of home heating fires; the second leading cause of U.S. home fires resulting in four out of the five home fire injuries and nearly nine out of ten deaths.”

Prince William take back nets 300 pounds of unused prescription drugs

Prince William police: “The Prince William County Police Department collected 310 pounds of unused and/or expired prescription drugs as well as e-cigarette and vaping devices as part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) national Drug Take-Back event held on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023.”

“The DEA joins federal, state, and local agencies twice a year to host prescription drug take-back collection sites in U.S. communities.”

Prince William County planning staff recommends denial of entire PW Digital Gateway

Protesters gather outside the Prince William County Government Center in Woodbridge urging the county to limit the areas in which data centers may be built, and to decline the Digital Gateway project next to the Manassas National Battlefield.

Insidenova.com: “In a stunning rejection of the largest data center development in county history, Prince William County staff on Friday issued recommendations that the Planning Commission deny all three rezonings associated with the divisive PW Digital Gateway.”

“County documents show staff suggested that the Planning Commission recommend to the Board of County Supervisors to not approve two rezoning requests by QTS Realty Trust Inc. — Digital Gateway North and South — and one by Compass Datacenters, which combined are aiming to build 23 million square feet of data centers on roughly 2,100 acres along Pageland Lane in western Prince William County near Gainesville.”
