The Manassas City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. today, Monday, July 24, 2023, to decide whether or not to allow commerce airline service from the city’s regional airport.

The jets would carry nearly 200 passengers and fly to destinations, including Florida, providing new options for travelers headed to and from the Washington, D.C. area. As many as 30 flights a day could operate from the airport, which is already Virginia’s largest general aviation airport.

South wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.”

Virginia REALTORS: “According to the June 2023 Virginia Home Sales Report released by Virginia REALTORS®, at the end of June, there were 16,246 active listings on the market throughout the state. This is 3,129 fewer listings than last year, more than a 16% reduction.”

“The supply is tight in most parts of Virginia and fewer sellers are listing their homes. New listings in June fell 25% from last year to just 12,135, the lowest June level in more than ten years. The largest decline in supply occurred in Northern Virginia, the Fredericksburg region, and parts of the Richmond Metro Area.

VDOT/Transubran: “The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and Transurban North America will partially open a 10-mile extension of the 95 Express Lanes in August to reduce congestion on the Interstate 95 corridor through Stafford County and Fredericksburg, connecting the region to Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.”

“The extension will continue the 95 Express Lanes from the current terminus just south of Route 610 (Garrisonville Road) to near Route 17 (Warrenton Road) in Stafford County. In August, northbound I-95 through travelers approaching from the Rappahannock River area will be able to enter Express Lanes using a left ramp entrance near the Route 17 interchange.”

“On Tuesday, School Board Chair Suzanne Seaberg announced that the division had selected Arlington-based RRMM Architects for the project. The company will use a prototype design used for Hardy Elementary School in Smithfield.”

“The report reveals a significant decline in new listings, closed sales, and active listings in June 2023 compared to the previous year. New listings saw a substantial decrease of 47.03%, with only 579 new listings compared to 1,093 in June 2022. Likewise, closed sales experienced a decline of 21.94%, with 644 closed sales recorded in June 2023 as opposed to 825 in 2022.”
