In light of Shenandoah County’s recent decision to rename Mountain View High School Stonewall Jackson High School and the restoration of the Confederate name, should Prince William County Public Schools follow suit and restore Stonewall Jackson’s name to Unity Reed High School, located near Manassas?

The collapse, which occurred on March 26, 2024, has had a far-reaching impact on commerce and transport across the region, necessitating these federal measures. Eligible areas extend beyond Maryland and include certain counties in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.

The SBA is offering up to $2 million in loans to businesses and non-profit organizations. Interest rates for businesses and small agricultural cooperatives are set at 4.000% and 3.250% for non-profit organizations. The loan terms may extend up to 30 years, depending on the borrower’s financial condition. Applications are open until December 30, 2024.

Ava Conway, a distinguished student who received an associate degree with the highest honors, served as the keynote speaker for the event. At just 18 years old, Conway hails from Eastern View High School, where she is set to graduate with an advanced diploma on May 18. Ranking in the top 10 percent of her class, Conway is faced with a choice between three universities for her continued education.

During the ceremony, Germanna conferred a total of 1,307 degrees and credentials upon 867 students. Conway, who plans to pursue a master’s degree in fine arts to fulfill her dream of becoming a drama teacher, reflected on her journey through Germanna’s Scholars program, which allows students to earn degrees without leaving their county. This initiative, spearheaded by Culpeper businessman Joe Daniels and generously supported by him and his wife Linda, provides significant opportunities for local students.
