Approval of the CUP is a crucial step for the restaurant that sells only chicken tenders, to move forward with construction. Supervisors will discuss the case at their public meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, inside the county government center at 1300 Courthouse Road.

The development would sit near the intersection of Garrisonville Road (Route 610) and Travis Lane, across from a Dunkin Donuts. Plans include a single-story, 3,077-square-foot building with a drive-through. Access to the site will be facilitated through a new entrance along internal shared access roads, with no direct access to Route 610. The property, spanning 1.16 acres, is part of the larger 44-acre Garrison at Stafford development.

Updated 7:30 a.m. Feb. 2, 2024 — Residents and officials in Prince William County are grappling with HVAC issues at the recently constructed $17 million Animal Shelter, which opened its doors a year and a half ago in November 2022.

An anonymous complaint prompted action from the Police Department, which raised concerns about unacceptable temperatures and humidity levels in various areas of the Animal Services Center.

Drug-related disturbance unveils unusual trio at North Stafford Arby’s

A routine disturbance call led Stafford County Sheriff’s Deputies to uncover a suspected drug-related bathroom party at the Arby’s located at 418 Garrisonville Road on January 31.

Deputies J.A. Martin and B.E. Vaughn responded to reports of a disturbance at the fast-food establishment around 8:47 p.m. Witnesses reported that two men and a woman, exhibiting erratic behavior, entered the single-use bathroom together, prompting suspicions among the restaurant’s patrons.

Haymarket resident charged with felony animal cruelty

On January 30, at 8:47 AM, Prince William police were called to a report of shots fired in the vicinity of Verde Place and Piedmont Vista Drive in Haymarket. Upon investigation, police said John James Ogle, discharged a handgun into the ground.

Police said he tried to euthanize his 16-year-old cocker-spaniel and poodle mixed dog. The accused fired one round, followed by several others, killing the dog, police said. No one was injured.

The National Weather Service Baltimore-Washington states high pressure is building across the southeast U.S., with a cold front approaching from the Northeast and Great Lakes. This front will move south on Friday, and high pressure is expected to dominate the Mid-Atlantic weather through early next week. Patchy, dense river fog may cause visibility issues for motorists near larger waterways until just after daybreak, and areas near or below freezing could experience patchy slick spots, especially on elevated and untreated surfaces.

Prince William uses gift cards to boost participation in annual homeless survey

The survey covered encampments throughout the county, including the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.

This year, a unique approach was taken to encourage participation in the survey. Homeless individuals who completed the survey were given gift cards as an incentive. The donated gift cards totaled $2,740, said Prince William County spokeswoman Nikki Brown.

It comes 11 days after another student was taken to a hospital following a fight at the same school.
