“VDOT will be suspending many highway work zones and lifting temporary lane closures on interstates and other major roads in Virginia from noon on Wednesday, Nov. 26 until noon on Monday, Dec. 1,” Virginia Department of Transportation announced. “While lane closures will be lifted in most locations, motorists may encounter semi-permanent work zones that remain in place during this time.”

VDOT added that its 511 Virginia tools can help travelers monitor traffic, incidents, weather, and congestion, and that travelers can also view the Thanksgiving travel trends map to identify historically slow periods on the state’s interstates.

Prince William County announced that real estate taxes for the second half of 2025 are due on December 5 and urged residents who have not received a bill to contact the Taxpayer Services Office at 703-792-6710 or [email protected].

The county outlined multiple payment options, including online payments, phone payments using jurisdiction code 1036, mailing checks to the county’s Philadelphia lockbox, or paying in person at the Development Services Building in Woodbridge or the Sudley North Government Center in Manassas. Residents using mortgage companies to manage tax payments are advised to coordinate with their lender to ensure proper processing. Late payments incur a 10% penalty plus annual interest accruing monthly.

“Arthur is an 8 month old Great Pyrenes that is searching for a new place to call home,” Manassas Police Department stated. “His previous owner didn’t understand the needs that this regal breed requires so brought him to us.”

“Arthur is such a fun and happy boy that truly deserves a wonderful home,” the department added.

Politics

“We’re grateful for the prioritization of Paid Family and Medical Leave for the 2026 General Assembly session,” Virginia Scope reported. “Virginians need the certainty of a paycheck more than ever amid skyrocketing costs, and no one should have to forgo a paycheck just to care for a loved one or a new baby.”

“Virginians elected the largest House Democratic Majority in nearly four decades because they trust us to fight for them and deliver real results,” the publication reported. “These first bills honor that trust. Our agenda is focused on lowering costs, lifting wages, expanding opportunity, protecting Virginians’ rights, and ensuring fair representation.”

“This decision is made as a matter of law,” Judge Angela Horan said. “However, we can’t let our hearts divert us from what is required under the law,” Prince William Times reported. “I feel that no rational fact-finder, properly instructed, could conclude beyond a reasonable doubt (that Hickerson is guilty.) The motion to strike is granted.”

The Prince William Little Theatre will bring one of America’s most cherished Christmas stories to the stage this December — not as a traditional play, but as a live 1940s-style radio broadcast.

From December 12 through 21, 2025, audiences at the Gregory Family Theater inside the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas will step back in time for It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry. The show reimagines Frank Capra’s beloved holiday classic through the lens of a vintage radio studio, complete with actors at standing microphones, an “On Air” sign, and a live Foley artist creating real-time sound effects.
