(The Center Square) – President Joe Biden announced Wednesday his administration would “forgive” $10,000 in federal student loan debt for those making less than $125,000 per year. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget said the plan could cost taxpayers more than $200 billion.
The total income cap is expected to be higher for married couples, likely around double the $125,000 mark, though that has not been confirmed.

This summer, the Virginia Railway Express Operations Board voted to suspend fares. Fare-free rides in September will be systemwide. Police emails to Fairfax schools about counselor’s solicitation charge bounced back — Emails from the Chesterfield County, Virginia, police department aimed at informing Fairfax County Public Schools that a middle school counselor had been arrested and charged with soliciting prostitution from a minor were sent to faulty email addresses, police said Monday. Aliyah Henderson, 19, of Stafford, was shot and killed today by a Chesterfield County man, said authorities.
At 1:49 p.m., deputies responded to a shooting on Crescent Valley Drive in the Kendallwood East subdivision, five miles from Downtown Fredericksburg.
The business owner reported cash and three sets of car keys were stolen.
Video surveillance showed the suspect throwing a car battery through the window and entering the business. Detective A. Sanchez, Jr. joined Deputy O’Neill, and they canvassed the area. The duo did not have to go far, as the suspect was located at El Patio Motel, just a few doors down the street.
