KO Distilling is expanding its reach, adding two more states to its list of where you can find its bourbon.

The Manassas-based distiller announced a partnership with Ruby Wines, Inc. and Slocum & Sons, which will place its products in stores in Connecticut and Massaschusetts. KO Distilling products can also be found in Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, D.C.

Ruby Wines, Inc. has served New England since 1933, while Slocum & Sons have been distributing wine and spirits in Connecticut since 1976.

KO Distilling bottles of whiskey and gin from its manufacturing base at 10381 Central Park Drive in Manassas. The company also operates a tasting room there, open Wednesdays through Fridays at 1 p.m., and Saturday and Sundays at noon.

In September 2022, The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) will partner with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) in celebrating September as Virginia Spirits Month. This designation recognizes the history of spirits and spotlights more than 100 licensed distilleries in Virginia.

“Virginia’s agricultural and forestry industries play an important role in the production of Virginia distilled spirits. Many Virginia distilleries invest in local farms by purchasing grains and fruits from local producers and by providing spent mash to farmers for feed and fertilizer,” said VDACS Commissioner Joseph Guthrie. “Distillers are also purchasing barrel wood components that originate from Virginia’s forests.”

Virginia ABC will honor this special month with “Virginia Spirits Sale-A-Bration.” Throughout September, customers can save 20% on 132 select Virginia-made products, all of which are subject to availability. The Sale-A-Bration will not have a purchase limit.
