Town residents, who must go to the post office to pick up their mail, may still do so. Meanwhile, the postal service encourages residents who have other USPS businesses to go to other post offices in Woodbridge or Lorton. A statement from the USPS is posted below.

Meanwhile, the USPS did not provide PLN with a damage estimate or if a police investigation led to charges. Occoquan Police Chief and Town Manager Adam Linn referred us to the postal service for those answers, saying it’s a federal case because the post office is a federal facility.

The National Park Service will begin improving wastewater systems at Prince William Forest Park’s campgrounds this summer.

The work will require periodic closures at Turkey Run Ridge Group Campground and Oak Ridge Campground and the extended closure of Cabin Camp 3. These improvements will ensure that Prince William Forest Park can continue to welcome visitors to these campgrounds into the future, providing a convenient and fun experience for all.

The Manassas Park Governing Body is debating how much city manager Lazlo Palko should be able to spend without first notifying his seven bosses.

The principal at Bull Run Middle School near Gainesville, the site of an open house for a proposed data center next to Manassas National Park tomorrow, April 18, 2023, canceled the event. We first reported the event on Saturday, April 15, 2023.

Instead, the school will host an open house for parents of rising sixth-grade students. “I am not sure of the mix-up, but it is corrected,” states school principal Matthew Phythian in an email.

News

On April 16, 2023, Stafford Sheriff’s animal control deputies were called for a report of two butterballs in the street.

On April 16th Deputy A.C. Wolford responded to Olde Forge subdivision for a livestock in the roadway complaint. He arrived to find these two turkeys strutting through the area. We would hate for Butterball and the Gizzard of Oz to go to “waist.” The owner can contact Animal Control to claim their feathered friends (or we will hold them until the middle of November). Don’t we have the “baste” Animal Control Officers?
