Prince William County was one of seven school division’s across the state that sued Youngkin over his order. The Supreme Court of Virginia is set to take the case soon, however, it’s unclear when that could happen.

A law passed last year requires schools to provide in-person education five days a week, and adhere to CDC coronavirus mitigation recommendations. Since August, the federal agency suggests everyone wear facemasks to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

A 13-year-old middle school girl faces charges of making death threats to her classmates.

On Wednesday, February 2, at 10:49 p.m., officers were called to investigate a potential threat toward students at Rippon Middle School at 15101 Blackburn Road in Woodbridge earlier that evening.

On Thursday, February 3 at 9:48 p.m., Deputy T.A. Vasquez went to a Sheetz gas station at 10 Washington Square Plaza for a report of auto theft. The victim said he was in the vehicle with an acquaintance arguing.

When the acquaintance threw his cell phone out of the vehicle, the victim stopped at Sheetz to use a phone. While in the store, the acquaintance drove off in his Honda Accord, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

An excavator struck a low-hanging bridge at Route 17 and Interstate 95 in Stafford County this morning.

No one suffered injuries, and both roads were temporarily closed while Virginia Department of Transportation crews examined the bridge that carries interstate traffic over Route 17. As of 11:30 a.m., Interstate 95 reopened while the northbound portion of Route 17 remained closed.

At 5:36 p.m. Wednesday, February, officers were called to the home improvement store at 14025 Foulger Square in Woodbridge, near Kohls, to investigate a robbery.

Prince William

At 10:01 a.m., a FedEx delivery van collided with a fire truck on Prince William Parkway at Balls Ford Road near Gainesville.

The driver of the van was injured and taken to an area hospital, a fire and rescue spokesman said. The crew on the fire truck had been called to the scene for a report of a car fire.
