The Prince William County Department of Transportation will seek feedback from residents about a $53.3 million, seven-story parking garage in Woodbridge.

The county will hold a Design Public Hearing in the Prince William County Board Chambers at the McCoart Building at 2 p.m., Sept. 20, 2022, where they can learn more about the plan to build 1,400 spaces on a county-owned property that was once earmarked for the construction of Minor League Baseball stadium for the Potomac Nationals, at 2501 Opitz Boulevard, across from Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge.

A first for the area, OmniRide will implement a new local bus service on Sundays.

Here’s the latest on the stabbing and three other incidents Prince William police reported on Monday, August 22.

Stabbing Investigation – On August 20 at 12:55AM, officers responded to Brixx Wood Fired Pizza located at 14900 Potomac Town Pl. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a stabbing. Upon arriving at the restaurant, officers located a 26-year-old man sitting outside with multiple stab wounds. Officers provided immediate first aid to the man until rescue personnel arrived and transported him to an area hospital where his injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. The investigation revealed a group of individuals, including the injured man, were inside the restaurant when a verbal altercation escalated into a physical altercation. During the encounter, one of the members of the group stabbed the man before the parties separated. There is no suspect description at this time.

At 11:30 a.m., Friday, August 19, crews were dispatched to the 16300 block of Topsail Lane, just off Route 1, for a house fire.

Crews found heavy fire and smoke from the garage, said Prince William County Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Chief Matt Smolsky. The fire extended into the home when, as fire crews began their attack.

Occoquan officials will gather at Town Hall today to remember the 50th anniversary of Hurricane Agnes.

A new piece of art will be unveiled. The creation uses a part of The Route 123 bridge that fell during the storm, Mayor Earnie Porta said. The commemoration begins at 11 a.m. at 458 Mill Street.

At 4:43 a.m., units were dispatched to the 13000 blk of Tanazari Way to find a kitchen fire extinguished by the building’s automatic sprinkler system. The apartment’s occupant was cooking food on the stove but fell asleep.

Smoke detectors activated and alerted the occupant. The occupant sustained a minor injury attempting to remove the food from the stove. No other injuries were reported.
