Dr. Sebastian Gorka, a conservative radio and TV host with over 3 million listeners, came to Woodbridge to stump for Mike Van Meter, who was running for State Senate in District 33 against Jennifer Carroll Foy,  vying to return to the Virginia Capitol.

Gorka said Van Meter is running in the strongly-leaning Democrat district, which includes portions part of southern Fairfax County, and Woodbridge Prince William County, in hopes to counteract ideological changes ushered in under Democrats, who controlled the House, Senate, and Governor’s office until 2021.

Northern Virginia Transportation Commission: “The Commonwealth Transportation Board approved 13 projects that will provide nearly $48 million in funding for Arlington County, DASH, Fairfax Connector, Fairfax County, OmniRide, and Virginia Railway Express. The projects are part of the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission’s I-395/95 Commuter Choice program, which uses revenue from tolls to support efforts to reduce traffic congestion.”

Health

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center: “Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center (SNVMC) and Potomac Urology are celebrating the 750th case using Aquablation therapy for the treatment of enlarged or swollen prostate in men.”

“This milestone places SNVMC among a handful of hospitals in the U.S. to treat 750 patients or more using this innovative therapy.”

Breaking News

“The investigation revealed a store clerk, identified as a then-50-year-old woman, was working at the location when she went to use the restroom. An unknown man followed the victim into the restroom where she was bound and sexually assaulted at knifepoint.”

“After the incident, the suspect fled the business and was not immediately located. The case eventually was transferred to Cold Case where, in 2021, the investigation was reviewed, and new investigative leads were followed through advancements in DNA/genealogical testing and research.”


Prince William

“Officers arrived on scene and located the vehicle in the nearby commuter lot where the driver, identified as the accused, was detained without incident. The investigation revealed the accused was intoxicated and operating the vehicle in a reckless manner as he fired several rounds of a shotgun from the vehicle.”

“Empty shell casings were located in the vehicle. No injuries or immediate indications of property damage were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Alimul KHUDI, was arrested.”


Prince William

Prince William police: “Armed Robbery | Abduction *ARREST – On June 14, the suspect sought in connection to the assault that was reported to have occurred at the Rivergate Apartments located in the 13100 block of Marina Way in Woodbridge (22191) on June 13, was arrested. The accused, identified as Victor Manuel GONZALEZ CISNEROS, was located and taken into custody by members of the U.S. Capitol Police in Washington D.C., where he will remain until extradited to Prince William County.”

“Arrested on June 14: [No Photo Available] Victor Manuel GONZALEZ CISNEROS, 26, of 10612 Woodlawn Blvd. in Upper Marlboro, MD. Charged with robbery, abduction, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, burglary, hit & run, felony destruction of property, larceny of an animal, destruction of property, domestic assault & battery Court Date: Pending | Status: Incarcerated Armed Robbery | Abduction. ”
