Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home & Crematory – Dale City: “Robert Harry Tyrrell, Age 96, of Woodbridge, Va., passed away, on June 22, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Graves Tyrrell. Robert was a lifelong resident of Prince William County…He served from 1942-1944 in the Seventh Fleet, mostly in the South Pacific. He was stationed at a PT boat base in the Philippines where he worked on boat engines.”

“Robert was in business for many years, raising cattle and hogs with his grandfather and uncle. Later, in the 1950’s, Robert and another uncle went into business building Custom Homes in the fast-developing Woodbridge area. In 1950, Robert took an agriculture class offered to WWII Veterans, and he and his four classmates wanted to do something to stay in touch. So, the five friends formed the Veterans Farm Club in Manassas, VA. The club decided to start planning a fair to be held August 31, 1950. From that day forward the PWC Fair was enjoyed for 70 years. Robert was an active member for all 70 years.”


Prince William

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center: “Sentara Health is proud to support The Leading Ladies Initiative of Global Inheritance, Inc. with a $25,000 donation to help underserved young ladies in high school realize and reach their potential. Global Inheritance, Inc. is a non-profit dedicated to creating pathways for young women to advance through STEM education, internships, job shadowing, and leadership development training.”


Prince William

The victims were then transported to an area hospital where they are expected to recover. The investigation revealed the two victims were near the playground area when they encountered two other males, later identified as the two accused. At one point during the encounter, a verbal altercation escalated before shots were fired, striking the two victims. The suspects fled the area on foot prior to police arriving at the location.

“While checking the area, officers and a police K-9 located and detained both suspects who were in possession of the firearms. No additional injuries or property damage were reported. Following the investigation, the two accused, both identified as 16-year-old male juveniles, were arrested. In addition, one of the accused was found in possession of suspected illegal narcotics.”

Dr. Sebastian Gorka, a conservative radio and TV host with over 3 million listeners, came to Woodbridge to stump for Mike Van Meter, who was running for State Senate in District 33 against Jennifer Carroll Foy,  vying to return to the Virginia Capitol.

Gorka said Van Meter is running in the strongly-leaning Democrat district, which includes portions part of southern Fairfax County, and Woodbridge Prince William County, in hopes to counteract ideological changes ushered in under Democrats, who controlled the House, Senate, and Governor’s office until 2021.

Northern Virginia Transportation Commission: “The Commonwealth Transportation Board approved 13 projects that will provide nearly $48 million in funding for Arlington County, DASH, Fairfax Connector, Fairfax County, OmniRide, and Virginia Railway Express. The projects are part of the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission’s I-395/95 Commuter Choice program, which uses revenue from tolls to support efforts to reduce traffic congestion.”

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center: “Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center (SNVMC) and Potomac Urology are celebrating the 750th case using Aquablation therapy for the treatment of enlarged or swollen prostate in men.”

“This milestone places SNVMC among a handful of hospitals in the U.S. to treat 750 patients or more using this innovative therapy.”
