The Prince William County Planning Commission approved a location for a new elementary school in Woodbridge. Construction crews will build the on about 10 acres on the north side of Prince William Parkway near the intersection of Route 1.

The school will have three stories to accommodate 631 students. The purpose is to relieve overcrowding at several elementary schools, such as Featherstone, Kilby, and Marumsco elementary schools.

The number of new homes sold in Prince William County fell nearly 30% compared to last year.

According to the latest, just-released statistics, a total of 555 homes sold in August, a decrease of 29.30% percent in comparison to September of 2021. New listings reveal a 28.32% decrease, with 648 new listings as opposed to 904 in September of 2021., the Realtor Association of Prince William tells Potomac Local News.

It’s the first time the school division has scheduled this type of event. Residents are invited to participate from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Colonial Forge High School, 550 Courthouse Road.

Crews working to build E-ZPass Express Lanes are preparing to close the ramps at Monument Drive and Stringfellow Road. As early as Monday, October 24, the ramps to I-66 East from Monument Drive and Stringfellow Road will close.

Finally, Prince William County will get a Whole Foods Market after years of pining.

The Prince William Board of County Supervisors unanimously agreed to rezone 145 acres of land that  SKW VA, Inc. and Southern Knolls, LLC will develop into the Quartz District. Whole Foods Market will anchor the mixed-use development, including more than 1,000 homes and nearly 375,000 square feet of office space.

Authorities said a Washington, D.C. woman walked into a Sheetz off Courthouse Road in Stafford County, sprayed an employee with aerosol, and then made off with stolen goods.

At 4:52 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, Stafford sheriff’s deputies were called to the gas station at 15 Wyche Road. A store employee who received the spray of aerosol feminine deodorant to the face tried to stop the woman, police said.
