School administrators may soon add criminal behavior to the list of responsibilities under a proposed agreement between Prince William County’s public school system and its police department.

The proposal is meant to define the government school division’s relationship with law enforcement and govern the actions of school resource officers, SROs. “Therefore, it shall be agreed that all minor criminal behavior committed by a child in the school setting will be handled by [Prince William County Public Schools] administration,” states the proposed memorandum.

Two men in Stafford County shot themselves over the weekend.

Deputies went to an apartment complex on Waterside Terrace, behind a Holiday Inn Express in North Stafford, after someone reported shooting at 11:57 p.m. Sunday, December 19. They found a man suffering a gunshot wound to the head.

[Updated] The Manassas City Council was shown a preview of a plan for a new townhouse development that raised many questions.

During a work session meeting earlier this month, Greenway Engineering gave the council a presentation proposing a 24-unit townhome project located between Lee and Wall Streets in what the city considers to be its downtown sector.

Stafford County Supervisors established a stormwater management fund and a corresponding grant program to dole out money to applicants.

On Tuesday, December 14, the Board of Supervisors authorized $100,000 from the Fiscal Year 2022 budget for the Neighborhood Stormwater Infrastructure Grant program to respond to existing and potential issues involving stormwater infrastructure in area neighborhoods.

Police said the victim’s car collided with another vehicle while traveling south near mile marker 148, at Prince William/Stafford County line at 2 a.m. Sunday, December 19. The vehicles sustained minimal damage, and the drivers pulled over and stopped on the left shoulder in Prince William County, said a Virginia State Police spokesman.

The driver of one of the cars got out and started walking across the highway when another car struck him. The man died at the scene, according to Virginia State Police.
