The officer could move into the front yard before one of the dogs bit the officer in the hip area while the other dog latched onto the officer’s external vest. The officer discharged his department-issued firearm, striking both dogs.

The dogs fled back into the residence, where they remained housed until taken into custody by Animal Control.

Three pedestrians and a motorcyclist were among the 14 individuals who lost their lives on Virginia highways over the 2022 Thanksgiving weekend, according to preliminary data. Of the 10 individuals riding in vehicles equipped with seatbelts, eight chose not to wear one.

“Not sure how many times we can say this until folks start paying attention, but ‘Seatbelts save lives,'” said Colonel Gary T. Settle, Virginia State Police Superintendent. “We are now heading into the 2022 holiday season with 14 families grieving the loss of their loved ones due to these Thanksgiving holiday traffic crashes. For eight of those 14, the simple act of buckling up may well have prevented such tragic outcomes. Please buckle up every one in your vehicle every time and on every ride.”

The Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department responded to a Shell gas station to treat the unidentified patient. The intersection sits near hotels, restaurants, a Target store, and Interstate 95.

Prince William police report:

Commercial Burglary – On November 25 at 5:41AM, officers responded to Dominion Arms located at 7253 Centreville Rd. in Manassas (20111) to investigate an alarm activation. Upon arriving at the business, officers observed broken glass to the front door. Video surveillance revealed multiple suspects approached the business before using a pickax-style tool to smash the front door and window to gain entry into the store. While inside the business, the suspects took multiple firearms before fleeing. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were not located. The suspects were last seen wearing all dark-colored clothing.

Update from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office 4 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2022:

Yesterday [Monday, November 28, 2022], just before 4:00 p.m. deputies responded to Elkton Drive in the England Run apartments for multiple calls of shots fired. Out of an abundance of caution, Gayle Middle School was placed on a partial lockdown. A red sedan was observed fleeing the scene. Deputy S.A. Russo located the red sedan on Enon Road and attempted a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop, increased his speed and initiated a pursuit. During the pursuit, one person bailed from the vehicle in the area of Hulls Chapel Road. The pursuit ended near Potomac Creek when Deputy Russo conducted a rolling road block. Within the vehicle were two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

At 4:38 a.m., police were called to the area of Hoadly Road near Ridgefield Village Dr in Manassas (20112) to investigate a pedestrian crash.

The investigation revealed the driver of a 2016 Volkswagen Beetle was traveling east on Hoadly Rd, prior to Ridgefield Village Drive, when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was wearing dark clothing and walking in the roadway outside of a crosswalk.

Updated 10:55 a.m. — A woman is hospitalized after she was reduced from a burning home in Dumfries.

Fire and rescue crews responded to a 2-alarm townhouse blaze in the Williamstown neighborhood at about 7:30 a.m. The woman was pulled from the home’s second floor and flown to an area hospital.

A Dumfries woman walking in the area of Prince William Parkway and Crooked Knoll Lane, about five miles south of Manassas, was struck and killed Friday, November 25, 2022.

The woman died at a hospital from her injuries. A van struck the woman at about 6 p.m. The driver remained on the scene of the crash.
