On January 21, 2023, detectives with the Prince William police Special Investigations Bureau concluded the investigation into the burglary at a home in the 8100 block of Community Drive near Manassas.

While investigating the incident, detectives received information leading to the identification of four men involved in the incident that occured in October 2022.

Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) is excited to announce the appointment of William “Jake” Jacoby as the new chief of police.

Jacoby has served as the college’s assistant chief of police for ten years. Following a nationwide search, Jacoby was named to succeed Chief Dan Dusseau, who retired in May 2022.

On January 20, 2023, at 7:45 p.m., Manassas police responded to Roger’s Service Station in the 9600 block of Grant Avenue, where callers reported a man wearing a Virginia State Trooper hat and claimed to be a state trooper.

According to police, he harassed several patrons and employees.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office captured a serial shoplifter after a brief pursuit in Stafford Marketplace.

On January 19 at 7:12 p.m., a Target in Stafford Marketplace staff reported shoplifting. Two sheriff’s deputies were in the area and found the suspect driving a black Mercedes SUV in the parking lot.

All Stafford County sheriff’s deputies will wear body cameras by the summer.

Sheriff David Decatur took questions about his department’s new body cameras, which will record interactions between law enforcement and residents. The system, developed by Axon and approved by the Stafford Board of County Supervisors just over a year ago, merges other cameras already used in the deputys’ cars and on taser weapons.
