Prince William police arrested a Maryland man in connection to a July 2 carjacking in Woodbridge.
Attempted Carjacking *ARREST – On July 21, the suspect sought in connection to the attempted carjacking that was reported to have occurred at the Lynwood Shopping Center located in the 14400 block of Richmond Hwy (Route 1) in Woodbridge (22191) on July 2, was arrested. While investigating the incident, officers identified the suspect as Marcus Xavier CUNNINGHAM. On July 21, following the investigation, officers obtained an arrest warrant for the accused who was served at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center where he is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges.
On July 21 at 8:33 a.m., investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Dumfries Rd and Country Club Dr and Route 234 in Montclair to investigate a crash.
According to police, the driver of a 2018 Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on Route 234, approaching the intersection of Country Club Drive, when the driver disregarded a red traffic signal and continued into the intersection where the vehicle struck a 2018 Lexus E300H that was within the intersection making a left turn from Country Club Drive onto Route 234.
Two men face charges in two separate sexual assault cases in which children were defiled by their family members, police said.
Sexual Assault Investigation – On July 19, 2022, detectives with the Special Victims Bureau concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred in the Woodbridge (22191) area of Prince William County between March 2019, and December 2019.
A 21-year-old man was shot to death in Woodbridge.
On Wednesday, July 20, at 6:42 p.m., officers responded to the 16600 block of Georgetown Road, just off Route 1 in Woodbridge, to investigate a shooting.
Police said someone is using a cell phone to peep on girls and women inside a dressing room at a Kohl’s department store in Woodbridge.

A man at a Walmart store in Fredericksburg shot himself on Sunday.
City police tell us:
Fire and Rescue System Chief Timothy L. Keen announced his retirement after 40 years of service to Prince William County. His retirement date is effective Sept. 1, 2022.
Chief Keen began his career in Prince William County as a volunteer in January of 1982. He has led the Fire and Rescue System as chief for the past three years.
Prince William police were called to a shooting in Woodbridge where they found a wounded 38-year-old man.

A Chesapeake man has been arrested and charged with a series of vehicle thefts and arson over the weekend in Stafford County reports a joint statement from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office and the Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department.
Stafford, VA–At approximately 1:35 A.M. on Saturday, July 16th, units with Stafford County Fire and Rescue were dispatched for a reported vehicle fire in the 100 block of Hamlin Drive in the Grafton Village area. Units found a fully involved vehicle fire and quickly brought it under control.
