A man who trespassed outside a McDonald’s hit a Prince William police officer, police said.
Police observed a man at the restaurant at 10730 Balls Ford Road near Manassas at 10:56 a.m. Wednesday, August 17. Officers approached him, determined he was trespassing at the business and tried to arrest him.
At 4:43 a.m., units were dispatched to the 13000 blk of Tanazari Way to find a kitchen fire extinguished by the building’s automatic sprinkler system. The apartment’s occupant was cooking food on the stove but fell asleep.
Smoke detectors activated and alerted the occupant. The occupant sustained a minor injury attempting to remove the food from the stove. No other injuries were reported.
Prince William police charged a man in connection to a series of sexual assaults involving minors. Police said the first incident occurred more than 20 years ago.

At 7:58 p.m. deputies responded to a Motel 6 at 401 Warrenton Road for a robbery. The victim said someone kicked open the door of his hotel room and threatened him with a knife while demanding money8, police said.
John Joseph Yenchak III plead guilty to reckless driving after striking and killing a man outside a bar in Stafford County on Monday, August 15.
Yenchak is a former Stafford County Sheriff’s Deputy who was driving his patrol car at 60 mph on Garrisonville Road near Paddy’s restaurant in North Stafford, in July 2021.

On Saturday, August 13, at 6:05 p.m., police officers found the body outside 14011 Worth Avenue in Woodbridge.
On Saturday, August 13, at 1:32 p.m., police went to the area of Mile Marker 18 on Joplin Road in Triangle to investigate a crash involving a motorcycle.
The 2013 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster motorcycle operator was traveling southbound on Joplin Road with a group of other riders. As the motorcycle approached the area, the operator failed to negotiate a sharp curve in the roadway and traveled over the double yellow lines before leaving the roadway and striking a tree, police said.
Police are searching for a man with a tattoo on the side of his face. The man is wanted in connection with strangulation of a woman in Lake Ridge.

A case against a murder suspect was dismissed by Prince William County Circuit Court Judge Carol A. Weimer Jr. on August 4.
On October 21, 2019, 21-year-old Nathaniel Isiah Hickson was found suffering a gunshot wound in the 2300 block of Briar Rose Lane in Lake Ridge. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
