Sears

The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce will host the 6th annual First Responders Appreciation Breakfast on August 24 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Fredericksburg Expo Center, 2371 Carl D. Silver Parkway in Fredericksburg.

The business community comes together to honor and thank our region’s outstanding first responders for their outstanding contributions to our safety and well-being. Awards will be presented in the following categories: Heroism (Gold, Silver or Bronze Awards; Meritorious Civilian Award); Investigative (Excellence in Criminal Investigation Award; Merit Award; The Business of First Responding Award); and the Citizen Valor Award.

Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears will provide the event’s keynote address. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Earle-Sears is Virginia’s first female Lieutenant Governor and the first black female elected to statewide office.

In addition to the formal breakfast, the chamber asks local businesses to participate in the “Friends of First Responders” initiative that offers special discounts to first responders in uniform or with identification during the month of September. A full list of participating businesses will be released at the event.
