Today, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force located and arrested the man sought in connection to the murder of 52-year-old Miles Tracey Hall of Triangle.

Hall was shot and killed in the 3600 block of Tavern Way in Triangle on May 15. The joint investigation with Dumfries Police Department revealed that the victim and the accused were known to one another and involved in an altercation.

Dumfries town residents will soon have their own farmer’s market.

The market will be open starting Saturday, June 18, from 8 am to noon. It will be located at 3800 Graham Park Road. The market will be held every Saturday until November 19.

At 7:53 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, Prince William County fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the 18000 block of Crossroads Court in Triangle, near Triangle Elementary School.

Occupants reported their home was on fire.  Crews arrived to find a working fire and helped the occupant’s safety. No injuries were reported.

[Updated 11 p.m.] Police just sent us new photos of a man suspected of assaulting two 12-year-old girls walking to school.

Police learned of the first assault today at 7:55 a.m. when officers went to the 3800 block of Graham Park Road in Triangle to investigate an assault on a 12-year-old girl walking to school.

On April 28 at 5:20 p.m.,  officers went to the Broadstone at River Oaks Apartments in the 3100 block of Chesapeake Drive near Dumfries to investigate a shooting in progress.

Officers found a 22-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound. Rescue crews took the woman to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Crews are rehabilitating a water tower on the northbound side of Interstate 95, near Route 234 at Dumfries. A message painted on the side of the tower greeted travelers, “Welcome to Prince William County.”

Over the course of the next two months, crews will sandblast and paint the interior and exterior of the tank. They’ll also place a water mixer in the tank to maintain water quality, as well as conducting general repairs and improvements to bring the tank into compliance with the latest Occupational Safety and Health Administration code requirements.

In honor of its grand opening, the church prepared 1,000 pounds of meat and invited the community to participate in its Great Banquet on Sunday, April 17, 2022. 

The Great Banquet, an annual event put on hold since the pandemic, marked the church’s Easter service and will also be an inaugural ceremony for the new building and the church’s Blue Ribbon Results preschool that opened last fall.
