Prince William County Police responded to a tense situation in Woodbridge where a juvenile in mental health crisis held a knife to a family member’s throat and threatened officers. The incident was safely resolved after a barricade was established and negotiations ensued.

Additional cases include the arrest of a Fredericksburg man accused of abducting a 17-year-old girl and a strong-arm robbery at a Manassas area Walmart. Here is the full daily police blotter roundup for the latest reports.


“Autumn Van Zandt was last seen on May 19, 2026 at approximately 1:00 p.m. Autumn is a 17 year old female and is described as 5’7, 135 lbs., brown hair, and brown eyes,” Fredericksburg Police announced. “Autumn was last seen wearing a black top and jean shorts with a red purse and has a heart shaped tattoo on the left/right side of her hip.”

She is known to frequent the downtown area of Fredericksburg and Southpoint Shopping area in Spotsylvania County and was last seen traveling with Ronnie Reel (DOB 11/17/1986). Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fredericksburg Police Department at 540-373-3122. In other cases, a strong-arm robbery at a Woodbridge vape shop and multiple impaired driving arrests in Stafford County also drew police response. No serious injuries were reported in the crashes or robbery.

A strong-armed robbery and assault at a Woodbridge 7-Eleven highlighted Tuesday night’s police activity in the region. A man stole a phone charger, assaulted an employee, and fled the scene.

Prince William County Police also made an arrest in a separate indecent exposure case involving multiple victims at a laundromat. In Stafford County, deputies handled several public intoxication arrests and two fraud reports, including an impersonation scam using the sheriff’s office number.


A Dumfries mother and her 8-year-old son, who were reported missing and endangered, have been located safe in Florida, Prince William County police confirmed.

Heather Rebecca Poisik, 50, and her son Lev Poisik were found safe in South Florida on Thursday evening, according to authorities. The pair had been the subject of a public alert after last contact with Heather on April 23.


Prince William County Police responded to an armed robbery on Friday afternoon in Woodbridge, where a 61-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint outside a check-cashing business. The suspect took her purse and fled in a light-colored sedan driven by another man. No one was hurt.

Later that evening in Manassas, officers investigated a reckless handling of a firearm resulting in injury after a young adult man was shot in the hand at a friend’s house. The victim was not cooperative with investigators.


A 41-year-old woman was walking near McGuffeys Trail and Powells Creek Boulevard around 4:25 p.m. when she was inappropriately touched by a man on a black stand-up electric scooter. Separately, a 53-year-old woman reported being touched around 3:47 p.m. near Powell’s Creek Boulevard and Jedd Forest Lane. No injuries were reported in either case.

This comes after an earlier report of a similar incident the same day. On March 10, around 6:50 p.m., a 26-year-old woman jogging near River Ridge Boulevard and Powells Creek Boulevard was approached by a man on a black electric scooter who touched her inappropriately. She also told police about a similar encounter with the suspect in the same area in May 2025. No injuries were reported in that case either.


Law enforcement in Prince William and Stafford counties continues to address a range of public safety issues, from firearm incidents and burglaries to drug trafficking. In a significant development, a Woodbridge man involved in a large-scale fentanyl and cocaine distribution conspiracy was sentenced to more than two decades in federal prison.

A Woodbridge drug trafficker was sentenced today in Alexandria federal court to 21 years and five months in prison for his role in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine and fentanyl.


Gunfire reported near a Woodbridge shopping center led police activity in Prince William County during the first days of February, according to police.

Officers responded to the 14200 block of Smoketown Road in Woodbridge after callers reported hearing multiple gunshots. Investigators found several shell casings in an alley behind the Prince William Square Shopping Center. No injuries or property damage were reported, and police did not release suspect information.


Two fraud cases involving phone scams led the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office daily incident report, with victims losing money after being contacted by callers posing as legitimate financial institutions.

In the first case, a resident on Basalt Drive reported receiving a call from someone claiming to represent USAA. The caller had detailed information about the victim’s bank account and was able to fraudulently wire funds out of it. In a second case on Courthouse Road, a victim reported being contacted by someone claiming to be with a loan company and was convinced to wire money before realizing the company was not legitimate.
