Update 11:11 a.m. — VDOT Fredericksburg: “The Interstate 95 southbound local lanes have reopened near exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton) in Stafford. The earlier crash scene is clear. Southbound drivers can again enter the I-95 southbound local lanes at the divide between local/through lanes to access the Route 3 interchange in Fredericksburg.”

“Every year, government, non-profit, civic, and service organizations in Virginia are invited to apply for grants ranging from $500 to $1,000 that will help address an environmental concern in their community. Grants must focus on one of the following priorities: Litter Prevention, Recycling, Cigarette Litter Prevention, or Community Beautification.”

Stafford County Fire and Rescue: “Just after 9:30 P.M. on Sunday, June 25th, units with Stafford County Fire and Rescue (SCFR) were dispatched for a reported structure fire in the 1300 block of Interstate Business Park just off of Warrenton Road. First arriving units marked on scene approximately five minutes later to find smoke coming from the front roof line and two bay doors of a two-story, subdivided warehouse building.”

“A bystander was attempting to extinguish the fire with a garden hose and advised there was a fire in one of the upstairs office spaces. Crews quickly began working to extinguish the fire, bringing the fire under control in approximately an hour due to difficult to access areas. The suite where the fire originated was not occupied at the time, and occupants of neighboring suites were able to self-evacuate without incident. One firefighter was transported for a minor illness.”

National Weather Service Baltimore-Washington: “It will be an active weather day as severe thunderstorms are expected to impact areas east of the Alleghenies. These storms are forecast to reach the I-95 corridor during the evening rush hour. Thunderstorm chances persist into the early overnight hours.”

“Today: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5pm. Some storms could be severe, with large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 93. South wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.”
