We don’t know the extent of the victim’s injuries or what led to the shooting. Both victims were taken to Inova Fairfax Hosptial by ambulance.
One person is in custody, according to initial reports.

Emergency crews evacuated a Holiday Inn Express on Route 17.
Crews were called to the hotel at 560 Warrenton Road for a report of a structure fire at 8:04 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023. They found a malfunctioning air conditioning unit.
Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “DUI Onville Road, 6/21, 12:52 a.m. Deputy S.C. Jett was traveling Eastbound on Barrett Heights Road when he observed a vehicle failing to maintain the lane of travel. Deputy Jett initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver.”
National Weather Service Baltimore-Washington: “Summertime conditions continue into the first half of the week. A strong system arriving on Mon will bring an increasing risk for severe thunderstorms & flash flooding. Some of these storms could produce 2″ diameter-sized hail. A stormy pattern persists.”
