“Founded in 2023, the Onyx Art Group brings together artists whose diverse cultural perspectives inform a collaborative and dialogue-driven practice,” the post stated. “During the talk, participating artists will discuss their creative processes, the themes of resonance and connection within their work, and the role of art in transcending cultural and emotional boundaries.”

Schools

“We’re proud to share that our Superintendent, Dr. Daniel W. Smith, has been appointed by the Governor to the Virginia Council on the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children,” Stafford County Public Schools announced. “This honor recognizes Stafford Schools’ strong partnership with military families, Marine Corps Base Quantico, and our commitment to supporting military-connected students across Virginia.”

The council works to address educational challenges faced by children of military families who frequently relocate, helping ensure consistent enrollment, placement, and graduation requirements across state lines. Stafford County is home to a large population of military-connected students due to its proximity to Marine Corps Base Quantico.

Weather

A weak system moved through the region Saturday, bringing light snow mainly to the mountains, with some lingering snow showers possible into the evening. Attention now turns to a second system late tonight into Sunday, which could bring light snow or a rain/snow mix, mainly east of the Blue Ridge. While any accumulation on Sunday should be minor for most areas, much colder air arrives early next week, with dangerously cold wind chills by Tuesday morning.
