ICE Detainer Lodged in Prince William Rape Case

“This sick illegal alien from El Salvador now faces three felony charges for raping a girl under the age of 15,” Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said, WJLA-TV reported. “DHS is asking sanctuary politicians in Prince William County, Virginia to not release this pedophile from jail and cooperate with ICE law enforcement.”

DHS states that 31-year-old Cristian Romario Saenz-Argueta, who entered the U.S. illegally, used social media to meet and then sexually assault a girl under 15 in Prince William County. He faces charges including rape by force, threat or intimidation and carnal knowledge of a child. Prince William County officials oversee policies on ICE cooperation, including a prior decision to end its 287(g) agreement.

Pageland Lane Suit Against QTS Developer Paused

“It is further ORDERED that this civil action be and is STAYED pending the Virginia Supreme Court’s resolution of Board of County Supervisors of Prince William County v. Oak Valley Homeowners Association. Inc.,” InsideNoVa reported. “and it is further ORDERED that by October 30, 2026, the parties file a joint status report informing the Court of the status of the litigation before the Virginia Supreme Court.”

The federal lawsuit led by Pageland Lane landowner Mary Ann Ghadban and other property owners against data center developer QTS was placed on hold as the broader challenge to the massive Digital Gateway rezoning heads to the Virginia Supreme Court. Ghadban had agreed to sell her land to QTS contingent on rezoning approval for the proposed 2,100-acre project that would feature over 22 million square feet of data centers.

Man Drowns at Lake Anna State Park

“A man drowned at Lake Anna State Park in Spotsylvania County on Thursday,” WTVR CBS 6 reported. “Park guests found the man unresponsive in about 10 feet of water Thursday afternoon.”

Park rangers and guests pulled the man from the water and began CPR before Spotsylvania Fire and Rescue arrived and continued lifesaving efforts. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification, and the beach remains closed until further notice.

The Prince William Chamber of Commerce announced new leadership at its annual meeting on June 4, with Kristi Black named President and Chief Executive Officer and Steve Danziger elected as incoming Chair of the Board of Directors, effective July 1. Danziger emphasized a desire for stability, stating a clear goal of a “drama-free” year following more than 18 months of internal upheaval that drew public attention.

The appointments come after a turbulent period for the organization. In September 2025, Jinnae Monroe, the first Black woman appointed as Board Chair, resigned shortly after her historic selection amid reported pressure from then-CEO Robert “Bob” Sweeney. Sweeney departed in early 2026. Potomac Local News previously reported on concerns regarding workplace culture and leadership transitions during that time.

Additional reports detail a malicious wounding at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, an arrest in a separate assault on a juvenile in Woodbridge, and a self-inflicted gunshot wound tied to drug charges in Manassas. A middle school weapon possession case and a residential break-in round out the latest activity.

On June 2 at 4:25 p.m., officers responded to Dumfries Public Cemetery at 17821 Mine Road in Dumfries after a report of a person in crisis. They located a 50-year-old woman in a wooded area who was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary findings indicate no signs of foul play. The investigation continues.

Mother Shot Multiple Times Before Fatal Crash

Fredericksburg police have released new details in a domestic-related shooting and crash that killed two people on June 3.

Officers responded around 5:32 p.m. to reports of shots fired. A male driver pursued a female driver in separate vehicles along Olde William Street and Emancipation Highway. He fired multiple rounds at her car, according to police. The female driver crashed near College Avenue and Emancipation Highway after being shot several times. She was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
