WOODBRIDGE, Va. – Woodbridge is raising a glass one last time as Brew Republic Bierwerks prepares to close its doors for good after nearly a decade in business.

The beloved brewery, located at 15201 Potomac Town Place in Stonebridge Town Center, will host its “Closing Time Party” from Friday, July 25 through Sunday, July 27 — a weekend-long celebration filled with live music, karaoke, trivia, and farewell toasts. The brewery invites the community to stop by for one final round of fun, food, and memories.

MANASSAS, Va. – A new coalition aimed at ending hunger in Prince William County will launch its first public initiative this weekend at a rally and food drive in Manassas.

The PWC Hunger Free Campaign Kickoff Rally and Food Drive will take place Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Harris Pavilion, 9201 Center Street. The event will feature speeches from local, state, and federal elected officials, kid-friendly activities, and a food collection drive to support local pantries during the summer months.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. – A 22-year-old man has been charged with felony homicide following the death of his 4-month-old son, authorities announced Wednesday.

Prince William County police say Gianni Romero-Coreas, of the 14300 block of Jeffries Road in Woodbridge, just off  Route 1, was arrested July 24 by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Manassas. He is being held without bond.

OCCOQUAN, Va. – Christmas will come early to the riverside town of Occoquan as businesses and visitors gear up for a festive summertime celebration packed with holiday spirit, exclusive deals, and creative twists on winter traditions.

Stafford

STAFFORD, Va. – Eugene Loew is no longer employed as Stafford County’s Director of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism—just four months after he started the job.

According to records obtained by Potomac Local News through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, Loew was hired on March 10, 2025, at an annual salary of $175,011.20. His last day with the county was July 15, 2025.

TRIANGLE, Va. – Community leaders, residents, and golf enthusiasts gathered this week to celebrate the newly renovated clubhouse at Forest Greens Golf Club with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Upgrades to the Triangle-based facility include a refreshed entrance with modern signage, an updated lobby and fireplace, improved grill room, fully renovated restrooms, a new pro shop, and brand-new furniture throughout the building. The improvements were funded through Prince William County Parks and Recreation’s Capital Improvement Program, part of a countywide effort to improve and modernize public facilities.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. – Back-to-school shopping is in full swing at Potomac Mills mall, and this year, families can take advantage of Virginia’s Sales Tax Holiday running August 1–3, 2025. During this weekend, items like school supplies priced at $20 or less and clothing or shoes costing $100 or less will be exempt from sales tax.
