Event

Join the New Dominion Choraliers put on a concert to honor the 250th Anniversary of the USA! The music in this choral concert captures the heart and soul of the American spirit through patriotic tunes and songs from the heartland. Joining the chorus are dancers from Dance Etc. School of the Arts and accompaniment from the talented members of Legacy Brass.

This family friendly and FREE event is perfect for young and old. Kids, parents, and grandparents will be familiar with many of the songs in this inspirational program. There are two opportunities to attend: Saturday, May 2 at 7:30 pm or Sunday, May 3 at 3:30 p.m.


Police Blotter

A serious incident occurred on Tyson Drive, where a man struck a woman with his vehicle. Responding officers found the suspect at a nearby 7-Eleven, according to the sheriff’s office.

He was charged with assault and battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and driving a child without proper restraints. He is currently held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.


Police Blotter

A missing 34-year-old man’s body was discovered in Powells Creek near Dyers Mill Ct in Woodbridge.

Officers responded to the area on September 27 after information from an investigation led them to the location. The man had been reported missing and endangered on September 25. Preliminary findings show no signs of foul play, and the body was sent for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Authorities assure there is no threat to the community.

The new elementary schools and Hartwood are part of Stafford’s broader strategy to relieve overcrowding and rebalance school boundaries. CULPEPER, Va. – After 27 years, Virginia State Police have made an arrest in the cold case murder of Sylena Jo Dalton, who was found stabbed to death in her Strasburg apartment in 1998.

Daniel E. Pompell, 56, of Culpeper, was arrested Friday, September 26, and charged with murder. He was taken into custody without incident, according to police. Pompell is the father of Dalton’s infant daughter, Allyson Kathleen Dalton, who was just 10 weeks old at the time and has never been found.
