A Stafford County resident reported losing $260,000 in a cryptocurrency scam conducted through WhatsApp. The fraudulent scheme involved a supposed data mining company that initially provided successful returns but later demanded more funds and issued threats. The victim made multiple wire transfers before realizing the scam.
In another incident, a resident’s identity was compromised after applying for a job through a fake website. The victim provided personal and banking information as part of a bogus onboarding process.
A 21-year-old woman was sexually assaulted and robbed at a commuter lot on Telegraph Rd in Woodbridge. The incident occurred early on October 21, when the victim arranged to meet a man who later drove her to the lot. There, he brandished a weapon, assaulted her, and stole her phone, transferring money to his account. The suspect then drove her to Stafford County, where local deputies were notified.
In a separate incident, police arrested an 18-year-old male from Woodbridge in connection with an armed robbery at an Exxon station on Seeton Sq. This arrest follows the apprehension of another suspect involved in the same robbery.

A 14-year-old boy was robbed at gunpoint while playing basketball in Woodbridge. The incident occurred on October 21 at 3:40 PM in the 14900 block of Enterprise Ln. The victim and a friend were approached by two males, who took the victim’s backpack. When the victim tried to retrieve it, one suspect displayed a firearm. Both suspects fled the scene. No injuries were reported.
Later that evening, at 11:18 PM, shots were fired at the Red Roof Inn on Automotive Dr in Manassas. A confrontation occurred between a man and someone in a silver sedan. All parties left before police arrived, and no injuries or property damage were reported. Shell casings were found at the scene.
In Stafford County, a fraud incident was reported on Regiment Lane where an unauthorized Verizon account was opened in the victim’s name. Deputy C. M. Hidalgo is investigating the case.
Several larcenies occurred on October 21. At Wawa on Eustace Road, four individuals stole numerous items. Later, at CVS on McWhirt Loop, two people took a large quantity of cosmetics. Additionally, at Jiffy Lube on Warrenton Road, a customer left without paying for an oil change.
In Fredericksburg, a vehicle parked on the 2000 block of Princess Anne Street had its front, rear, and both driver’s side windows damaged. Another incident on the 1800 block of New Kent Street involved three tires being slashed.
There were also reports of theft, including stolen license plates from a vehicle on the 1300 block of Emancipation Highway and a wallet taken from the 2200 block of Carl D. Silver Parkway.
Stafford County authorities are investigating multiple fraud incidents. On Decatur Road, a victim reported an unauthorized loan taken out in their name. Another case on Courthouse Road involved a scam where a victim was falsely informed of a warrant and persuaded to wire money for fines.
In a separate incident, vandalism was reported at Brooks Park where unknown individuals wrote on bathroom stall doors.
In Stafford County, three individuals were arrested for driving under the influence in separate incidents. The most serious incident involved a driver, Amber Johnson, 27, of Alexandria, who was stopped at the intersection of Centreport Parkway and Richmond Highway. She was charged with DUI with a blood alcohol content above .20 and reckless driving, and was held on a secured bond.
Earlier, a traffic stop on the 500 Block of Warrenton Road led to the arrest of Kimberly Benson, 43, of Renton, Washington. Benson was charged with DUI and received a summons for an illegal U-turn. She was released on an unsecured bond.

In October 2022, Guzman explained that her bill would create child abuse charges for parents if they do not affirm their LGBTQ child’s sexual orientation and gender identity.”
