“Park Ridge Subdivision, 1/3, 12:03 a.m. Deputy P.J. Leon responded to a disturbance. A neighbor advised he believed a juvenile party was occurring. When Deputy Leon arrived and looked through the open door, he observed a party much like a scene from the movie Sixteen Candles, complete with beer pong, marijuana, and juveniles. Criminal complaints for unlawful possession of alcohol and underage possession of marijuana were filed for the juvenile hosting the party at his residence. The other 12 party goers were turned over to a responsible guardian.”

“Target, 1090 Stafford Market Place, 1/2, 3:17 p.m. Deputy X.D. Bates responded to a larceny. Staff advised two individuals stole approximately $800 worth of items. They further advised both suspects have been seen stealing from other Targets in the area. Deputy Bates was able to identify both suspects and warrants will be obtained.”


A robot is now assisting doctors at Stafford Hospital.

The hospital acquired a $2 million da Vinci XI surgical robot system for doctors to use. Officials said that the da Vinci robot is the first step in planning to build a robust robotics program at Stafford Hospital.

Stafford County Democratic Committee: “The Stafford County Democratic Committee hereby issues this “Call to Caucus” to notify Democrats of the upcoming committee reorganization to be held on Sat., Jan. 13 at 9 a.m. at the Stafford County Government Center, 1300 Courthouse Road, Board Chambers. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. for check-in. Only those Democrats who have filled out a Caucus Participation Form by 9 a.m. or are in line to do so will be allowed to participate in the election of committee members for the 2024-2025 term. The caucus will be followed by a meeting of the newly-formed committee where officers will be elected.”

Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg: “Mary Washington Hospital welcomed the first baby of the new year born in the Fredericksburg region. Baby girl Elaine Margot was born at 12:11 a.m. to Andrea Zevallos Paravicino and Aaron Hiler of Fredericksburg, weighing six pounds and 12 ounces.


Manassas Economic Development Department: “Kicking off the new year full of exciting events, festivals, and family-friendly activities – and starting with February’s First Friday in Historic Downtown Manassas.”

“The First Friday in 2024 will be Feb. 2, 6-9 p.m. This is the City’s 10th annual soup contest where competitors enter their tastiest soup for a chance to win cash prizes.”
