GMU sets state record for total enrolled students at more than 40,000

Insidenova: “George Mason University’s total student enrollment has surpassed 40,000 this year, marking a record for both the school and the commonwealth. The 40,000 includes the university’s anticipated record total of roughly 11,000 new students, including the largest freshman class in school history of 4,500 students, 3,500 of which are from Virginia.”

AG issues opinion after Prince William defies governor: Schools should follow model policy

The Center Square: “Virginia’s Attorney General Jason Miyares issued an opinion today, arguing that the governor’s model policies comply with federal and state nondiscrimination laws and that “local school boards are required to adopt policies that are consistent with them.”

“The opinion comes at the request of Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who has been advocating since the release of the latest version of the Virginia Department of Education’s “Model Policies on Ensuring Privacy, Dignity, and Respect for All Students and Parents in Virginia’s Public Schools” for their adoption — to strong resistance from some districts in the commonwealth.”

OmniRide unveils 15 new buses during Ribbon Cutting

OmniRide: “OmniRide held a ribbon cutting for new buses on August 23 at the OmniRide Western Facility in Manassas. Members of the Board of Commissioners were in attendance. Remarks were made by Board Chair Victor Angry, OmniRide Executive Director Bob Schneider, and Northern Virginia Transportation Commission (NVTC) Executive Director Kate Mattice.”

“Eight of the 15 commuter buses and one of the four local buses were purchased through NVTC’s Commuter Choice program. The commuter buses will be used to serve the Staffordboro Commuter Lot – with transportation to Washington, D.C, and the Pentagon. These buses include custom designed upholstery, passenger seatbelts, charging stations, brighter destination signs, and an on-board air purifier.”
