Schedules for Express, Metro Express, and Local routes will change on that date. OmniRide Connect micro transit pilot program is now operating in Manassas Park. It replaces the OmniRide Local Manassas Park route. Some routes operate from the new Balls Ford Road Commuter Lot in Manassas.

Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) is excited to announce the appointment of William “Jake” Jacoby as the new chief of police.
Jacoby has served as the college’s assistant chief of police for ten years. Following a nationwide search, Jacoby was named to succeed Chief Dan Dusseau, who retired in May 2022.
Stafford High School Assistant Principal Benjamin Diggs has been named the 2023 Outstanding Secondary School Assistant Principal of Virginia by a panel of school leaders representing the Principal Awards Committee of the Virginia Association of Secondary School Principals (VASSP).
“Mr. Diggs embodies the spirit of our learning community,” said Stafford Schools Superintendent Dr. Thomas W. Taylor. “He is an exceptional leader, strong administrator, and sincere role model for students and staff. Volunteers must pass criminal background and driving record background checks, have valid Virginia driver’s licenses, and have a vehicle liability insurance policy. You’ll feel great as you make new friends while providing transportation to veterans who otherwise struggle to have their daily and medical needs met! Southbound Route 17 Business (Warrenton Road) in Stafford County will be reduced to a single travel lane between Heartfields Lane and Washington Street for a road maintenance project.
Work will occur during daytime hours for about two weeks, starting Tuesday, Jan. 24.
On January 17, 2023, the Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) voted to approve funding for Phase I of the Route 28 (Centreville Road) Innovative Intersections project from Manassas Drive to Spruce Street in Manassas Park.
The CTB approved over $24 million worth of funding for the Innovative Intersections project. This funding was approved after years of efforts from Delegate Danica Roem (D), the Manassas Park Governing Body, and the Manassas Park Government staff to secure funding to improve Route 28, the city stateed in a press release.
The Manassas Museum has partnered with GWWO Architects to fulfil the “(Re)Imagine Your Museum” project, a major expansion effort set to be completed by Fall 2023.
This project – originally planned in 2008 – was set aside due to economic instability. Having finally begun in late 2022, the $7 million expansion effort will be completed by Fall 2023 – just in time for Manassas 150th birthday celebration.
Registration is underway for the 11th Marine Corps 17.75K.
The 11.03-mile event begins at 7 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023, along Route 234 near Dumfries.
Didlake raised money for the books through donations to the Toys for Tots Literacy Program at its The UPS Store franchises.
“SPARK, the education foundation for PWCS, is grateful for the wonderful donation of books from Didlake and The UPS Stores. It is support from community partners such as these that allow our foundation to continue to provide invaluable resources to our education community here at Prince William County Public Schools,” said Dawn Davis, Executive Director of SPARK, after accepting the books from Joe Diaz, Didlake COO, and April Chervenka, Business Manager of The UPS Stores for Didlake. SPARK engages community partners to fund and promote initiatives that enhance educational excellence.
