Tourism professionals from all corners of Virginia will convene in Stafford County for the Virginia Tourism Corporation’s Visitor Centers Seminar.
From March 20 to 22, 2023, Tour Stafford, Virginia, will welcome more than 100 travel professionals to the Holiday Inn and Conference Center just off Route 17. They will participate in a familiarization tour of the community’s visitor attractions and a conference with presentation-style educational opportunities.
Prince William County Potomac District Supervisor Andrea Bailey said she’ll hold a town hall meeting about Possum Point later this month.
The town hall will be held on March 30, according to Bailey’s chief of staff, Shaunee Caldwell-Lynch. Bailey has yet to announce a meeting location.
Work is underway to get the northbound and southbound Interstate 95 general-purpose lanes bridges over Powells Creek to improve safety and extend the overall life of the bridges, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The bridges, located around mile marker 155 between the Dale City Truck-Only Safety Rest Areas and Cardinal Drive, were originally built in 1963, repaired in 1976, and widened in 1981 and 1996.
Crews arrived at the 5000 block of Cloverdale Road to find smoke showing from an apartment.
The fire was quickly extinguished, but the single apartment unit had sustained moderate damage. The Building Official declared the unit unsafe to occupy, displacing two adult occupants.
The event comes on the heels of the approval for Doves Landing outside Manassas. At 500 acres., the passive recreational area will become the county’s largest park and will serve hikers, kayakers, and birdwatchers.
The Prince William County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism manages more than 4,400 acres of parkland comprised of 81 properties and more than 60 miles of trails.
Several drivers have been victims of smash-and-grab burglaries in Stafford County.
A burglar has the windows of multiple cars parked at various county recreational locations, including Duff McDuff Green Park, Crows Nest nature preserve, and the Rowser Building, which hosts sporting events.
With the suspect’s death, cops says the case is closed.
