I-95 Northbound: Exit 130 (Route 3) to Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway): Monday – Friday, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m. I-95 northbound will be reduced to one lane each evening between the interchanges for construction with I-95 Northbound Rappahannock River Crossing project and the 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension project.

I-95 Southbound: Exit 148 (Quantico): Wednesday?–Thursday,?9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure at 9 p.m. followed by double lane closures at mile markers 149-147 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension work.

I-95 Southbound: Exit 140 (Courthouse Road) to Exit 133 (Route 17): Monday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 10 a.m. and Thursday – Friday, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m. Varying single and double lane closures between interchanges for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension construction.


The wider road section is the last in three road projects that began in the early 2000s to widen Route 1 in Woodbridge from four to six lanes between Neabsco Creek to the Occoquan River. l

Prince William police: “Now that daylight is fading earlier, it can be difficult for drivers to notice pedestrians and those on bicycles, so the Prince William County Police Department invites residents to be ‘Street Smart’ and aware of pedestrian and bicyclist safety.”

“The “Street Smart” education and enforcement campaign, which runs through Nov. 19, 2023, aims to reduce the number of pedestrian and bicycle crashes with motor vehicles.”


A design public hearing on this project will be held:

“Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) staff will deliver a brief presentation starting at 5:45 p.m. and will be available to answer questions between 5:30-7:30 p.m. in an open house format. Stop by at any time between 5:30-7:30 p.m. to review the proposed project plans and offer comment.”


Prince William County will sink an additional $1 million into a Route 28 bypass project to redesign a road, allowing drivers from the western part of the county and Fauquier County to bypass Manassas and Manassas Park and get into Fairfax County sooner.

“The investigation revealed the driver of a 2005 Honda Civic was traveling northbound on Lake Jackson Dr at an apparent high rate of speed, when the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and struck a tree. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The driver, who was the only occupant in the vehicle, was pronounced dead on scene. Speed and impairment appear to be factors in the collision. Crash investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact police.”

“Identified: The deceased driver of the 2005 Honda Civic was identified as a Tommy Alexys ALVARADO, 22, of Manassas.”
