I-95 Northbound: Exit 118 (Thornburg) to Exit 126 (Spotsylvania): Sunday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5:30 a.m. Varying single and double lane closures at mile markers 121-122 for milling, paving, and pavement patching.

I-95 Southbound: Exit 140 (Courthouse Road): Monday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 10 a.m. and Thursday – Friday, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m. Varying single and double lane closures for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension construction.


Virginia State Police: “Virginia State Police is investigating a crash involving a train in Stafford County. The crash occurred Sunday (Oct. 1), at 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 658 (Brent Point Rd) and Route 633 (Arkendale Rd).”

“A 2020 Toyota RAV4 was traveling east on Route 658 when it inadvertently turned onto a private section of train tracks. As the Toyota attempted to turn around and exit the tracks it was struck by a southbound Amtrak train. The railroad crossing arms descended as the Toyota attempted to exit the tracks.”


City of Fredericksburg and Stafford County: Route 1 at Falmouth Bridge: Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Single lane closure on Route 1 over the Rappahannock River at Falmouth Bridge for a scheduled bridge inspection. Crews may be working along the northbound or southbound lanes at the bridge.

Spotsylvania County: Route 1: Sunday – Wednesday, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m. Alternating lane closures on Route 1 northbound and southbound for road construction between Market Street and Bakers Lane. Construction for an intersection improvement project.


 

Town of Occoquan Mayor’s E-Newsletter: “As some of you may be aware, from October 2 through October 31, a portion of Tanyard Hill Road will be closed. This is to accommodate the replacement of approximately 650 feet of a 24-inch water main, which is part of the Occoquan River Crossing Project of Fairfax Water in collaboration with the Prince William County Service Authority.”


Press Release: Fatal Crash Investigation – On September 23 at 2:45 a.m., crash investigators responded to the 3500 block of Veronica Lane in Woodbridge to investigate a single-vehicle crash. The investigation revealed the driver of a 2014 Nissan Altima was traveling southbound on Smoketown Road at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the northbound lanes, and left the roadway before striking multiple trees and catching fire.”

“The driver of the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced deceased at the scene. No additional vehicles were involved in the crash. Speed is a factor in the crash. The investigation continues.


I-95 Southbound: Exit 148 (Quantico) to Exit 143 (Aquia/Garrisonville): Monday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 10 a.m. and Thursday – Friday, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m. Varying single and double lane closures with intermittent traffic stops at mile markers 148-146 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension construction.

I-95 Northbound and Southbound: Exit 98 (Doswell) to Exit 110 (Ladysmith): Monday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. Mobile work zone with single lane closures at various overhead signs between mile marker 99 in Hanover County to mile marker 112 in Caroline County.


“On September 21st at approximately 12:06 a.m. a Traffic Safety Volunteer was directing traffic in the area of Garrisonville Road and Keystone Drive as a paving vehicle was conducting their work. The Traffic Safety Volunteer had his marked Sheriff’s Office vehicle’s emergency lights on and he was wearing a reflective vest. Despite this, the suspect vehicle, traveling at a high rate of speed, drove through the intersection and struck the Traffic Safety Volunteer before continuing on.”


Virginia Department of Transportation: “Overnight I-95 northbound ramp closures are scheduled for several evenings next week at exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton) in Stafford County.”

“Closures are needed after midnight for construction activities on two projects, the I-95 Northbound Rappahannock River Crossing and the 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension.”
