The funds will support the Fredericksburg-based non-profit following a fire at the shelter.

Police found a car believed to be involved in a shooting on the Capital Beltway we first told you about earlier this week, burned out near Quantico.
Shortly before 4 a.m. today, Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, the Prince William police Department said fire and rescue crews found a car ablaze in a wooded area of Prince William Forest Park, off Joplin Road near Quantico Marine Corps Base.

(The Center Square) – The Virginia tourism industry performed well during the summer months despite high rates of inflation and expensive gas prices, but continued to have problems filling roles amid an industry-wide worker shortage.
The outlook for Abigail Spanberger (D) is looking better in her race to keep Virginia’s 7th Congressional seat. The Cook Political Report today moved Spanberger’s race against Republican Yesli Vega, a Prince William Board of County Supervisor member, from “toss-up to “lean Democratic.”

The nine-mile western stretch of the E-ZPass Express Lanes spans from Route 29 in Gainesville east to Route 28 in Centreville. The lanes feature multiple new ramps providing access to and from the E-ZPass lanes. The remaining 13 miles of new E-ZPass lanes on I-66 between Route 28 and I-495 (the Capital Beltway) should open in December 2022.

Cortland Lawson hit a go-ahead home run in the 7th inning and drove in four runs, and the FredNats beat the Delmarva Shorebirds for a 12th straight time on Thursday night by a final of 11-9.
The FredNats scored four runs in the 2nd inning on RBI singles from Jared McKenzie and Jacob Young, and a two-run single by Lawson. Delmarva scored three in the 3rd and five in the 5th to take an 8-6 lead after a two-run single by Will Frizzell in the 4th inning.
