Stabbing

On January 31, 2023, at 8:30 p.m., Manassas City Police responded to a stabbing at the 8600 block of Carlton Drive, in the City of Manassas. Upon police arrival, it was discovered that a 22-year-old male was stabbed while walking in the area with a female friend. The suspect fled the area on foot in an unknown direction following the incident.

On January 30 at 7:36 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 9300 block of Victoria Street near Manassas to investigate a domestic dispute.

When officers arrived at the residence, they encountered a man, later identified as the accused, at the doorway of the home who attempted to prevent officers from speaking with the other occupants at the residence. At one point, the accused spat on the officer.

Updated 5:45 p.m. — Manassas police said city officials did a good job communicating with the public during a lockdown at several schools last week.

Just before 1 p.m. On Thursday, January 26, 2022, administrators placed Osbourn High School and two other schools, Baldwin Intermediate and Elementary schools and Metz Middle School, into “secure the building” mode, where no one could enter or exit the building while instructors continued teaching.

Last week, Stafford authorities said they arrested a vandal who painted Z’s around North Stafford.

Since posting the news, we’ve received comments and texts from PLN readers stating they’ve seen similar vandalism in Prince William County, just north of Stafford.

The investigation revealed the driver of a 2015 Jeep Wrangler was traveling north on Richmond Highway when the driver slowed to make a right turn onto Williamstown Drive.

As the vehicle slowed, the passenger opened their door and got out of the Jeep was still in motion.

Updated 5:30 p.m. — Prince William police found no bomb at Unity Reed High School after someone threatened to bring an explosive to the school at 8820 Rixlew Lane, near Manassas Mall, just before 1 p.m. today.

The school division placed Unity Reed (formerly Stonewall Jackson Senior High School) into secure the building mode, meaning no one enters or exits. After police called all-clear, officers assisted in dismissing students.

On January 21, 2023, detectives with the Prince William police Special Investigations Bureau concluded the investigation into the burglary at a home in the 8100 block of Community Drive near Manassas.

While investigating the incident, detectives received information leading to the identification of four men involved in the incident that occured in October 2022.
