On November 22, two individuals were arrested in connection to a felony homicide investigation involving the neglect of a vulnerable adult, which began after a call to a home in Woodbridge earlier this year.

The victim, a 32-year-old man with cerebral palsy, was found severely neglected and later died from sepsis caused by the neglect, leading to charges of homicide and abuse against the two family members involved.

The Fredericksburg Police Department is investigating a past shooting into a vehicle that occurred in the 800 block of William Street on Saturday, November 23, at 3:50 p.m. Two suspects were seen fleeing the scene, and police are asking anyone with information to contact the department.

Shaheem Hicks-Brown was convicted of multiple charges, including aggravated malicious wounding and firearm offenses, for a December 2022 shooting in Triangle, Virginia, where two victims sustained gunshot injuries but survived. The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Sarah Sami, with support from law enforcement and victim services.

The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office arrested Ashley Kriesten following a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding suspected child sexual abuse material. Investigators executed a search warrant at Kriesten’s residence, seizing electronic devices, and charging her with multiple counts of child pornography possession, distribution, and aggravated sexual battery. The investigation is part of the office’s collaboration with the NOVA-DC Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce.

Manassas Park

An 18-year-old Manassas Park man was arrested after an assault and robbery at gunpoint that took place late last week.

On November 14th at approximately 12:56 a.m. Deputy R.A. Kehoe responded to Shasta Place for a previously occurred robbery. It was advised a male and female were robbed at gunpoint and the male victim had to be taken to the hospital due to his injuries during the incident. Deputy Kehoe would make contact with the victims to discover what occurred.
