[Corrected on December 17] A border crossing into El Salvador by a man living in Stafford County led to the discovery of a stolen firearm.

On August 30, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office learned of the theft of a firearm from a house in North Ferry Farm. The weapon is a Springfield Armory 9 millimeter handgun. The victim provided the serial number to enter the gun into a law enforcement database as stolen. Detective A. Sanchez, Jr. led the investigation.

More shots rang out in Prince William County.

At 8:35 p.m. Friday, December 10, officers went to the 7800 block of Meadow Court near Manassas to investigate a shooting. Residents told police they heard multiple gunshots. An investigation revealed two masked men fired multiple rounds in front of the home before fleeing in a white sedan a third person. Multiple bullets struck the house. Police report no injuries.

When officers arrived at The Palace Bar and Grill in Marumsco Plaza at 2:15 a.m., they found a female bystander and three security guards suffering after they had been struck or grazed by gunfire.

The security guards are aged 26, 33, and 45, and the woman is 28-years-old, police said. Gunfire injured all of them following an argument between the shooter and someone else inside the restaurant. The shooter went to his car parked outside, grabbed a gun, walked back, and started shooting, police said.

[Updated 12:30 p.m.] A seventh-grade teacher who taught in Stafford County faces charges after authorities said he inappropriately touched a child.

Stafford County sheriff’s deputies arrested the suspect at his home in Spotsylvania County on Tuesday, December 7, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Sarah Maroney.


The drive-by shooting victim drove himself to a nearby hospital after being shot at 2:07 a.m. Saturday, December 4, police said. He was sitting in his parked SUV when struck by gunfire and suffered injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.

The victim did not cooperate with the police and investigate the incident, officers report.

The driver honked his car horn at the Caddilac in front of him, and the driver responded by waving a gun in his face.

According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, the victim sat in his car in the parking lot at Walmart, 11 Village Parkway in southern Stafford, at 6:22 p.m. Sunday, December 5. When the Cadillac stalled, the victim honked the horn, and the Cadillac moved on.

The man boarded a Fredericksburg Regional Transit bus at the Stafford County Courthouse about 12:30 p.m., refused to pay, then refused to exit the bus, a sheriff’s spokeswoman states.

The man claimed to keep a gun in his pocket, she adds. Deputies surrounded the busy courthouse, the county government center and negotiated with the man on the bus. Eventually, deputies used a taser to subdue the man and arrest him, said a spokeswoman.

Police arrested one man in connection to a robbery in the 7200 block of Market Court near Manassas at 1:35 p.m. Thursday, November 25. The victim used a social media app to purchase a pair of shoes and arranged to meet someone to pick up the sneakers, police said.

While there, the suspect tried to walk away with the shoes, and a fight broke out between the suspect and the victim, police said. Then, a friend of the suspect pulled a gun, police said.

Police went to the 1000 block of Magnolia Grove Drive for a report of a man with a rifle making threats to hurt himself, police said. Officers used de-escalation tactics and then arrested him, police said.

Police took the suspect to jail and held him without bond. Officers charged Timothy Harris, 49, of Manassas with three counts of simple assault, three counts of reckless handling of a firearm, and five counts of brandishing a gun, police said.
