Roberta Brandon, of Woodbridge is guilty of killing a man outside a Dale City area Food Lion.

On November 29, 2016, a custody and visitation dispute turned violent outside a grocery store at 6306 Hoadly Road. During this confrontation, the victim, Cordrey Douglas Jackson, 24, of Dumfries, was beaten and shot in the chest by Brandon, who was 23 at the time of the murder.

Police are searching for a man they say used a handgun to beat a woman during an argument and then steal her cell phone.

The investigation revealed the victim, a 20-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the victim was struck by the accused which caused her to fall to the ground.

Indecent Exposure *ARREST – On July 27, the suspect sought in connection to the indecent exposure that occurred at the Lowe’s located at 13720 Smoketown Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) on July 8, was arrested. The accused, identified as Alvin Jerome SPRUILL, turned himself in to police without incident.

A fire at the Carl Lewis Community Center on Monday is blamed on a malfunctioning air conditioning unit.

The Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department were dispatched to put out a fire which occurred at the Carl Lewis Community Center at 154 Telegraph Road in North Stafford at 3:35 p.m. on July 25. Units arrived at the scene four minutes later and dealt with heavy fire coming from the community center.

An Ohio woman was charged with reckless driving after a fatal traffic accident on Warrenton Road on Monday, July 25.

On July 25 at 8:47 a.m., deputies responded to an accident on Warrenton Road near Fleet Road, near an Aldi grocery store. The investigation revealed a Chevy Impala driven by Barbara Simon, 63, headed south of Warrenton Road, crossed the median, and struck a northbound Nissan Versa.
