On Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 5:53 p.m., emergency response units were dispatched to attend to an injury incident near the shoreline of the Occoquan River, close to the Lake Jackson Dam.

Upon arrival, responders recognized the necessity for additional units equipped for high-angle rescues, given the challenging terrain required to safely extricate the injured individual from the riverbank.

On Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 10:41 a.m., the Prince William Fire and Rescue Department responded to reports of a house fire in the 13000 block of Dominique Estates Lane, located in Haymarket. Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy flames engulfing a single-family home. Fortunately, none of the occupants were present at the time of the incident.

The intensity of the blaze necessitated extensive firefighting efforts, compounded by the absence of nearby fire hydrants. As a result, the home suffered significant damage, rendering it unsafe for habitation. Two adults and three children have been displaced as a consequence.

The intersection of Spriggs Road and 234 is the new site of Prince William County’s newest Fire and Rescue Station. It’ll be the county’s 27th firehouse.

Prince William fire and rescue units responded to a residential fire on Merrily Way on April 22, and a fire at Loch Lomond Elementary School on April 20, 2024. No injuries were reported in either incident.

At least five people were displaced after the fire, according to initial reports.

The fire was visible from two sides of a single-family house. All occupants were safely outside. The fire broke out at 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

On Sunday, April 14, 2024, a wind-driven brush fire quickly spread and burned three vehicles and two sheds in the Lake Arrowhead neighborhood.

Stafford fire and rescue: Our units responded to a brush fire along Maple Lane yesterday at approximately 1130 hours. Units found about a half acre on fire, with two small sheds and three non-functioning vehicles on fire. The fire was extinguished within 15 minutes. The fire was not exclusively wind-driven, but several factors including low humidity and dry fuels contributed to the spread. The homeowner was advised of the burn laws.

Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue press release: Earlier this morning, units were dispatched to the 13400 block of Princedale Drive for a report of a house fire. Crews arrived to find a fire in an attached garage; extinguishment quickly followed. Unfortunately, the structure sustained moderate damage and was posted unsafe to occupy by the building official.

The Red Cross responded and assisted three (3) adults and one (1) child who were displaced. There were no injuries reported. The Fire Marshal’s Office determined the cause of the fire was accidental through the improper storage of oily rags.
